Peace dude - I just thought that there were at least 7-8 players ahead of Lovett last night. Although I couldn't believe my eyes when he actually contested for a hard ball a couple of times.

Lets just say he looks a hell of a lot better up forward than he does down back. Really provided an option, and created some.

Virtually the whole team lifted - hard to pick votes, but here goes...

5. Fletcher (go go gadget back to his best)
4. Lovett (actually put in 4 quarters for a change)
3. Hille (rucked almost all night and gave his all)
2. Winderlich (definitely loks better away from the back line)
1. Monfries (just for making his oponent throw up if nothing else!)

others worthy of mention:
NLM & Slattery - much improved efforts
Houli, Lonergan, Reimers - great stuff from players with so little experience
McPhee - looked much better now that he only has the 3rd best defender on him
Lucas - didn't do that much but just great to see him back
Myers - showed he could possibly play in the middle; will really be something in the future

3. McPhee
2. Winder
1. Lovett

Honourable mentions: NLM, Fletch, Lonergan, Myers

Great team effort - even those who didn't have great games (McV, Lloyd, Lucas) still tried their guts out.

Can't ask for more than that.

5. Fletch (awesome game)
4. McPhee (best game from him for probably 2.5 years)
3. Monfries (kept McLeod out of the game & made him puke)
2. Hille (never though of him as a good ruckman in regards to rucking ability, but last night he really impressed)
1. Winders (again, best game for a long time)

Honourable mentions to Houli, NLM, Lovett, Lucas (not spectacular, but serviceable in first game back), Myers, Lonergan & Reimers (now to get some decent boots onto the lad...)

Also, biggest disappointment for mine in what I thought was a solid 4 quarter performance was Stants (he must be nearly as lazy as Laycock from what I saw last night...no second efforts, no turn tail and chase when not having the ball, etc...)

Umpiring, as always shithouse (not unexpected though with the two bald pricks out there). How many frees were missed for good tackles with incorrect disposal, interference, etc... even the commentators gave them a bit of a caning...
