Not at all. Once someone is charged with an offence (he has been charged, hasn't he?) the only things the media can legally report are what we call the 'bare facts' of the incident.
They are: who he is, what he's charged with, when and where it is alleged to have happened and when he's due in court. That's about it.

Hard to know. Maybe there are no other 'leads' to follow for the media. Maybe Lovett has pissed off interstate over xmas or maybe everyone close to the case is refusing to talk. Dunno.

Evidently he spent two quality hours with the coppers today and was released on summons... my understanding from the ABC online article (go find it yourself, I can't beef hooked) is that the coppers want to charge?
