Thanks BD. A game I've not yet had the luck to watch yet!
That was on a while ago. First time I have watched it in full, previously I had the ABC version but that only showed the 1st quarter and a half.BenDoolan wrote:If you want to erase the debacle that was Anzac Day 2010, then set your recorders for this Thursday night (early Friday morning 3.30am) where they will show a full replay of the 1984 Preliminary Final v Collingwood. Do yourselves a favour and have a treat.
No worries Rob - enjoooooooooooooy!robrulz5 wrote:Thanks BD. A game I've not yet had the luck to watch yet!
Oh yeah, I watched it several weeks ago - for the first time since the game was actually played. When Vander came to play, he really played. It's a pity he never really shone on any Grand Final day.Rossoneri wrote:That was on a while ago. f*** me, now I know why my dad loved Van Der Haar so much. Either foot, 50m no problem.

I just love watching anything about Leon Baker. That guy was a gold nugget. He was a super player - and played even better in finals.
And yes, the ground announcer did make that announcement.
The only 1984 game you can get through the Name A game website is the 2nd semi.Windy_Hill wrote:Can you buy a DVD copy of this game anywhere?

I'm hanging out for this one as well! As yet, I have not seen it advertised.rockhole wrote:I have been hanging out for the 1984 2nd semi against he Dorks which was considered to be one of the really great finals of all time. Has it been on already??
Was a superb win. It was the game where I thought we could actually win the flag that year - we were without any of our stars, and all the 2nd stringers played out of their skins that night. Watch out for Big Bad Barnstorming Barnard taking several match saving marks in defence in the frantic last few minutes of the match...BomberinJapan wrote:in about an hour from now...
1999 Essendon v Western Bulldogs
If I remember correctly we were smashed by injuries during the game, weather may have been pretty shithouse, and we grabbed a great win.
Was one of my first few games as a member and I don't remember much of it at all...went to the game running on 3 hrs sleep from the night before.
Looking forward to taking it in a bit more closely.
I seriously didnt realise there was a grand final that yearBomberinJapan wrote:One not to bother staying up for later this morning....2001 Grand FInal.
