Who would win?

Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

Peter Somerville, added kicker being that we traded Paul Salmon to the Dawks because we considered Somerville a better ruckman than the Big Fish. At least we got Wellman and Barnard in that trade.

My god we could use a bloke like Barnard in the team at the moment.

Barry Young was definitely a worthwhile player and should not be considered to a part of The Gimpmeister's Essendon's lesser lights team.

I would love to see a clash between our current team versus the following list of former Essendon Champions (in their prime)..

Backs: Richard Cole, Matthew Banks, Ty Zantuck
CHB: Benny Doolan (VC), Todd Ridley, Kepler Bradley
C: Marc Bullen, Daniel McAlister, Judd Lalich (CAPT)
CHF: Mark Alvey, Aaron Henneman, Julian Kirzner
FF: Andrew Ukovic, Illija Grgic, Willie Dick
Foll: Simon Eastaugh, Tony Delaney, Andrew Bomford

Int: Tristan Cartledge, Jonathan Robran, James Davies, Joel Reynolds

I think we'd just about get done  Feel free to add any players that you think were stiff to miss out..
I'm sure Ken Hall would get a game. One game for no disposals...

Sam Hunt, wonder in Bargey on BB is still convinced he will be our next full back.

In terms of Barry Young, loved him when in the red and black. Think he pissed off at the end oof 1999 chasing more coin at Hawthorn where his career promptly died in the arse and he missed out on the 2000 premiership. So simply for so such poor decision making skills he is worthy of a mention. :D

Austin T-Rex Lucy.

Under 18 AA Fullback, only lasted one season at the club, apparently because his arms were too short to allow him to be an effectively spoil the ball at AFL level.

Justin Murphy

Can't believe some people reckon the soft useless squib played some decent football at our club.

He'd get in for his kicking action.. but sadly, it was probably better than a few of our current players.

How does Ben Doolan make this team? Had a rotten run with injuries and carried high expectations but he certainly played some good footy for the Dons. That said, if you're talking performance per dollar (in real terms) I'd have Benny in there.

Danny Morgan?
Dean Dick? He was woeful even at VFL level.

Benny Doolan made the team, mainly due to me wanting to rev up a certain poster on this forum

I'm disgusted I wasn't made captain you prick!

People always forget that I finished 4th in the Crichton Medal in 1996 (behind Hird, Mercuri & Misiti) - a year where we missed the Grand Final by a bee's dick :!:

The front of the sport section of The Age this morning has a huge heading "Blood Feud", with a black background and the letters filled in with a bit of biffo, mostly Essendon players. On the "D" in "blood", Wayne Carey is grabbing a Bomber's collar and I believe it is Mr Young.

Here we go:
