Re: Angus Monfries
Speaking of Angus, he is a restricted free agent and unsigned.
Meaning we have to match any offer put to him by another club and if we don't I think he can walk.
We should be paying Adelaide to pick him up so we get a good compensation pick.(I wonder what the formula is? is that legal?).....
If it was a good pick it could come in VERY handy in picking up say Caddy.
I think Angus because we have had him for 8 years classifies as a first round pick in compo? that would be gold.
we use what is it pick 11 on JD, then get pick 12 as compo? (I think I have that right).
golden.

Re: Angus Monfries
I disagree. All night he trailed his opponent to the ball hoping it would slip out the back and he would get a cheap kick, he wasn't on his own doing this but a 150 game players should be leading by example for his younger teammates.Jazz_84 wrote:ironically close to if not our best player last night

but he was still closer to his opponent then anyone else was.... haha *sigh* but seriously your probably rightrobrulz5 wrote:I disagree. Re: Angus Monfries
Yes, he will join an elite and quite small band of players who have reached this many games during an extended bleak period of the club's history (post war).little_ripper wrote:Angus congrats on the 150th this weekend! =D> =D> =D> =D>
Ronnie Andrews (151 games)
Jobe Watson (153 games)
Andrew Welsh (162 games)
Brent Stanton (181 games)
Alan Noonan (182 games)
David Hille (192 games)
Mark McVeigh (232 games)
Ken Fletcher (264 games)
But at least these guys had some personal achievements during their career in the downtrodden times;
Rotten Ronnie was named captain for a season.
Jobe is captain - and will be a 3 time Crichton Medallist.
Woosha was part of the leadership group at one point.
Stants has consistently made the Crichton top 5 - and is part of the leadership group.
Lurch is a 7 time leading goal kicker of the club - and a member of the 1968 GF team.
Hilley was captain for a season and a Crichton Medallist.
McVeigh was a member of the 2001 GF team and lead the side on a few occasions.
Racehorse was a member of the 1968 GF team, was a captain and a Crichton Medallist.
Gus is none of it. Apart from a leading goal kicker with 24 goals in a season

Re: Angus Monfries
More than that isn't there?
Re: Angus Monfries
Nope, that's it for players with that many games and no premiership glory. Generally, players don't reach that many games during shit periods because they are, well, shit. Those that do, generally have some achievement to show for it.Gimps wrote:More than that isn't there?

He was shit. But don't understand why he hasn't been given a go in the midfield recently to endeavor to build up his value-add proposition to other clubs..
Re: Angus Monfries
Because we'd have displayed his shittiness in multiple positions which would have made his trade value even less than a 6th round draft pick - where it currently standsGimps wrote:=D>BenDoolan wrote:Yeah, this one...JockStrap wrote:Does any other club actuallly want him?
