Delisted:

A. Steinberg
L. Davis
H. Slattery
K. Reimers (if he can't be traded)
M. Ross
B.Prismall (if he can't be traded)

Retire:

D. Hille
M.McVeigh

Likely Trade:

T.Pears seems to be out of favour.

I think Monfries, Myers, Dyson and Gumbleton will be retianed

M Baguley to be offered a senior spot.

Hooker is still in contract.

Will need a key defender soon

Not spectacular but given the amount of time away from the game, good enough to probably tempt opposition clubs into thinking he could be worth a punt. Nothing like a strong marking tall forward who was drafted at number 2 to mess with you mind. Trust me, us Essendon fans have been seduced by the fantasy for long enough.

I would be knocking on the door at any club with a half decent midfielder up for grabs and throw the Gumby/Reimers/Monfries package deal. That's a four goal a game package. Surely the likes of GWS or GC would bite at that offer?
Freo might

We will trade
MH_Bomber wrote:I have to question this idea that one of Hooker or Pears will go. Fletcher will retire one day and in the meanwhile you guys are saying we are going to trade off one the blokes that have been apprentices to him.

I think tall defenders are important we might not play them in games but if say we get injuries we need backup tall defenders that can mix it in the seniors. So we will have Fletcher, Carlisle, Hooker, Pears and Hibberd. Is Fletcher going to play every game ?

Sam Lonergan needs to be kept.
I think this more comes down to posters thinking about what players have currency that the club would be willing to part with.
Hurley is a tall defender as well and would be used there if necessary. Ryder also has spent some of his career playing in the backline.

I wouldnt be suprised if we drafted for another young tall defender and tried to trade one of our blokes that have games in them. We need some highly rated mids.

Other than any qualities as a clubman, Sammy Lonergan does not need to be kept. He will however attract no interest and we will prob not find enough talent making it worthwhile for us to move him along. Love Loners at his best. Thats finished.

Reimers will stay if he isnt traded... is still a very handy player to have on the list IMO...plenty of others to go before him...

agree, give the guy a role he is suited to for 5 weeks before we trade him off, full list to choose from would benefit him, piss Monfries off and give him the small forward only role

Didn't he play the small forward role a few times this year and do nothing except against a shit team?

I dunno maybe ive wiped the year from my head almost, but like i said give him 5 games with team structure around so he can develop, but that's just me

Prismall has a contract for 2013, yet everyone seems to be delisting him, wont happen.

I think Reimers has had enough time to develop. Let's move on.

Yeah this is annoying the piss out of me... You cannot delist a contracted player so please stop suggesting it

Well technically you can.

Have to pay out his contract under the cap though.
