Happy enough with Bomber. Was always the logical choice, given it is INTERIM.

Is Craig confirmed or just a rumour? I find him a very unusual choice.

Announcement at 4pm.

I just don't get all the Craig hate. He was a very very good coach at Adelaide.

Craig was the one(I think only one) active coach last season who came out in support of Hird, Bomber and EFC around supplements saga.

I am sure thats not the reason he was considered, but it wouldn't have hurt.

He is also a qualified sports scientist. So he won't stand for cowboys pulling the wool over hirdys eyes again in 2015.

Mind you I have heard they pushed boundaries at adelaide.

He is wise to the pitfalls perhaps. Bomber/Hird were not.

Pretty spot on.

He's there to lend credibility to the sports science dept.

Agree, he had a very structured approach which could be a real benefit.

Don't understand Craig hate either.

Could be worse people to have onboard. Not as if he was totally useless at Adelaide. Melbourne are a different story. Not his fault.

Only problem with that is that before football he was heavily involved with the Australian Cycling Team, hope he didn't have much involvement with the likes of Matt White, Stuart O'Grady or Mark French.

Announced as expected, with Goodwin elevated to snr assistant.
Hird on holiday and "not involved"!

OK, great, it's sorted! Don't mind Neil Craig. Was he the link to get Dank involved at Melbourne? Weird if he was.

Anyway, head down, bum up, and give it a real crack next year. Thanks Bomber, you needed to step up to the plate. Onward and upward.

Very happy with the Bomber appointment.

It is also good to have Neil Craig on board, I've always liked his structured approach to coaching.

Saw the press conference and I am willing to accept what Neil Craig's role will be. It was explained as coaching coaches and strategy. That seems something he should be able to get his teeth into.

Sounds like Bomber and Goodwin will do the hands on coaching with the playing group.

Now lets land some big unexpected 'rejects' i.e. 2 and 3 time premiership players like Chapman and/or Sewell and/or Pods and we will give next year one hell of a crack.

Melbourne send a team of people around to follow anyone they think are 'ahead' of them. Craig afaik had Dank brought to his attention by the dees medico staff.

Who since got the sack.

But saying all that Craig is on record as almost condoning what we did....saying its necessary to innovate sometimes in sports science.

Neil Craig is an interesting choice for us.....i think he is more insurance if bomber goes bust next year. Bombers issues around stress are real apparently.

Fond memories of seeing Craig in the Adelaide coaches box during the 93 Prelim. just after we hit the front. He was tearing his hair out!!!

My how the wheel turns!!!

I might have missed it, but is not a well man leaving ?, and if so does anyone have a theory as to why, and has he landed a gig anywhere else yet ?
