We have no ruckman, which will hurt us.

We also seemed to have lost some pace, though with Winderlich back that will help.

Not sure why Watson was dropped. While his kicking is poor, he isnt going to turn it around over-night. At least he wins the ball and feeds it out.

JJ said last week he needed a couple more games in the 2's, so why is he playing?

I expect a much better effort from the pathetic anzac day i saw. How can we not win we have the biggest advantage we have the 10 day break compared to six and our players are nice and fresh. NO EXCUSES THIS WEEKEND  Essendon by 48.

Guys, i'm officially reneging on my pledge that we'll thump the Hawks this week due to exceptional circumstances. No Lloyd and Hille makes this an even money game.

I reckon it's going to be very close.

I think they're a tad underrated the Hawks and they're certainly ahead of us in their redevelopment of their youngsters.

Of course our older players in Hird, Lucas, Fletcher, Michael and JJ are better than theirs, but as Dr.Phil said the loss of Lloyd and Hille does pose some problems.

I fear you may be right. I still expect the players to give it all to atone for their Anzac day pisspoor performance. Will be a tight one.

I actually think we will get rolled.

Maybe thats just the flu talking, but I have tipped Hawthorn in the footy tipping.

we will win, with a huge effort from JJ, Watson(given a rocket and a second chance), winderlich.

given that ryder will have his handsful with ruck duties....

Johns to kick 4 along with Lucas.

The midfielders are really going to have to be on their game as we will probably get well beaten in the ruck contests.

Not confident at all about this one and with Lloyd out, I'm predicting a Hawks win.

They lose Williams, we lose LIoyd.
Both goal kickers gone sort of evens things a little.
Williams can damage, and we know what LIoyd is capable of. That pesky Dixon can get under a teams guard...one to watch.
The ruck/midfield will be very interesting. Last year they obliterated us out of the centre in the Q1 at Donlands...literally ran us out of the game.
We finished stronger, but far too late.
This game is on the bigger G, and although we have only won 1 from 7 there in recent times, I think it's to our advantage.
If we are able to curtail their clearance and run then Franklin will also suffer from a poorer supply.
Game over....if.

Good to see Sheeds keep Dyson in for another week, even tough he played poorly last week.

Last year, Dyson would get dropped the minute he played poorly. I would like to see him get 4 games in a row, then have the selection commitee judge him after that. You cant judge a kid on one game.

I think we will play well and win also.

Hawthorn aren't a high scoring side(in fact second worst in the comp), and I still think even without Lloyd we have the forward line to worry them.

I'd expect sheedy will want to open this game up, and I think there will be fireworks early in order to do it.

Clarkson knows his side struggles to kick 100 points.

If we do that, we will win.

simple.

Agree. With no williams who will kick their goals? Yes their midfeild is very good but they dont have a goal kicking midfeild.
