Yep, a very gracious man by the looks of it. Was equally effective in junk teams as well as good ones. I'm glad blokes like Hurley, Pears, Neagle, Daniher and Gumbleton got to play a couple of seasons with him. They'd have learnt a great deal from him.billyduckworth wrote:2003 – 24 games, 19 goals. Played Centre Half Back for the season and drifted down to kick goals. Won the B & F award with James Hird.
BGP – 3 goals v West Coast R10, Sydney R11 and Geelong R13
2004 – 21 games, 24 goals. Again played at CHB for the majority of the year.
BGP – 4 goals v St.Kilda R2 and Collingwood R5 Anzac Day
These two years were really amazing. Even playing on the backline, he averaged around a goal a game, drifting down and making the best of that booming left foot. A fantastic player, great bloke, very under-rated.
Also, where some players can be stubborn and insist on playing on no matter what, he chose to make the announcement now, so as to allow the club to concentrate on making the finals and relieve the selection panel of the dilemma of whether to give him a "farewell game" out of sentiment. Shows what a true champion he is.
What Now For Scott Lucas?
