I felt Merrett’s F50 entries were great tonight. Mostly found a target - there’s room for improvement sure but he’s the best we’ve got other than saad. Love his work ethic.

Umpiring was awful all night but I reckon we definitely got more dodgy calls our way in comparison. We did well to do whatever was needed to put Richmond off their game tonight. That was their worst game of the year by far.

Well...it was a better effort in terms of exertion.

Which goes to show, its no use at all showing individual flashes of brilliance if you can't come together for more than 5 minutes at a time as a team.
They made mistakes we could have capitalised on tonight but instead we could never get our act (plan) together and make it stick. And it was so bloody predictable but we had no answers. Thank God they couldn't kick. Loved Saady tonight worked his arse off.

Cant remember the players involved but late third qtr, grand stand wing, our guy lays a tackle on Richmond opponent who spills the ball.....shoukd have been holding thr ball but maggot awards free to richmond gor too high.

early in last qtr, Lynch tackles Essendon defender high knocking the ball free and pays holding the ball decision against us...goal results. Two identical incidents, two opposite decisions both in favour of Richmond.

We were screwed over as usual. At a minimum Walla's goal should never have been overturned and Vlaustin not awarded that 50m penalty which resulted in a goal. 12 point swing right there.

As for the multitude of other inconsistent decisions or frees paid one waybut not the other, bewildering. Yes they were the better team but what chance does an underdog have when the wind is repeatedly and unfairly sucked from your sails.

A lot to be proud about tonight but we have to get smarter and more efficient. The inside 50 differential was scary bad.

It wasn't so much that the umpiring cost us the game, as much as Richmond's inefficiency saved us from a flogging.
But when Matty Richardson says Grimes was barely touched, and Jordy Lewis says some critical moments in the game completely destroyed our momentum and could have led to a different result, well, yeah, OK, the umps were pretty poor.

That is three of his 30+ disposals. I wouldn't call him a game breaker which is what we need.

As for BOG, dunno about that.
