Memorabilia

Post by rockhole »

With the recent high level discussion on scarves, what is your most endearing and ancient piece of Essendon memorabilia. Mine is my 1983 scarf bought prior to the "83 GF and nearly left deliberately at the ground for obvious reasons.

I also have a signed photo of Coleman playing against East Perth in 1951 which is most treasured.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

I had Essendon coasters (from the Social Club) on Premiership night 1993 all signed by players and coaches - who we mingled with on that magnificent day/night. I have now f****** lost them!!!!!

I've got a 45 record (vinyl for you younger folk) of our alternative theme song - circa 1979 - entitled "Zoom Zoom the Bombers are Flying".

(it's even worse than our normal theme song)
My material isn't very good..Oh...and then there's the bladder problem.

Mine would have to be my VFL scarf. Sentimental value... it's what made me an EFC fan.

I have a 2000 Premiership painting with signatures from all the players and Sheeds and a collection footy cards of the "Champions of Essendon" in a photo frame.

My scarf isn't particularly old - it's 13 years old - but I spent an entire year of Maths classes plaiting the strands together. That'd have to be mine.

I've got a little souvenir flag on a stick from the 1957 Grand Final. It has the names of the players in red on a black background and a glued-on photograph of Bill Hutchison.

I have a tape of a song - "We're All Part Of Sheedy's Army".

Love my big badge from 1993 and a black and red footy from the same year with the 1993 Premiership team signatures that has also been signed by Sheedy personally.

2000 jumper which I wore to every game I went to that season, signed by the whole team except Lucas, Bewick, Barnes and Sheeds. Just have to track them down this season, at least now I know where Scotty will be!
Got a heap of old scarves, my oldest is about 1995 I think. Also got a 1993 premiership cap and one of those bits of the old Showers Stand framed on my wall.

I have a stack of old cigarette pack footy cards from the early 1900's to 1930's - lot of Essendon players in that group. Reckon they are worth anything??

My personal fave however remains my cherished 1978 malomine ashtray with the old fashioned Bomber logo.
