Was 1 of the standout players tonight... Really stood up and put his stamp onto the game...
This could be a breakout year for him...
Heaps of poessions and used the ball well too...
Loved that I think in the 4th qtr when he twisted around through the tackle and got away an effective disposal...
Well done =D>

Hirdy said after the game that he rates him very highly and that we missed him a lot when he was out

Better get used to him getting picked every week

I know he gets the occasional canning from supporters, but he has a future I think.

He suffers from his draft pick position & expectations, position selection @ hbf and injuries.

He remains a youngster but at least he has some games under his belt now.

More game time, I hope midfield, will see him improve even more.

As his body matures he will be a very strong & mobile footballer.

Am genuinely excited by his potential and believe we saw just a little of what he is capable of...will continue to grow in stature

What I love about Myers (and Reimers) is his massive boot.
Both these guys can roost a ball to position which provides us with great line-breaking skills.

Very clean with his hands tonight as well.

give him all year to settle himself and feel a part of the team and hope we can see him perform week to week from 2012 onwards

Haven't seen the game on the box yet ... (and thanks to Foxtel's lousy programming, I wont see it til 4.30pm on Tues FFS) but yeah, I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw his stats in the paper this morning 31 touches. He's shown that he is capable of racking up some pretty good numbers stats wise but I think this would have to be has PB. Where did he play, sounds like it was midfield judging by those figures even though he was named in the backline?

I also noticed Slattery's name missing from the stats sheet this morning. I only heard the start of the game on the radio before we went out last night but from what I did hear, Hibberds name was coming up pretty regularly and I see that he had pretty impressive stats as well. There was no mention of Slattery dropping out. Anyone know why? I'd like to think that Hibberd would become Henry's No. 1 rival for that spot. I haven't seen him play yet but if his defensive skills are up to it, he'd have to be a better bet surely, cos he can obviously win the ball better than Slatts and hence be a more attacking option( I doubt Slattery would have ever topped the 20 mark...takes him about 3 games to ge that many touches) .

Easily his best game. Rapt that we are finally seeing a return on the investment

Really solid game tonight, definately gave us a glimpse of what he can do if given the opportunity. Love how he played much more of a midfield role rather than simply stuck in our back 50!

I like him in the midfield, another big body to give Watson and Hocking a hand on the inside. He would have been close to getting 30 possessions when we played the Dogs in round 10 last year.

He was sucking in the big ones on the way to the bench last night. I thought his workrate was outstanding.

The good thing about Myers' game is that coming into the side to replace someone else makes it hard for the selectors to drop him when the replaced player is due back (in this case Stanton).

It keeps pressure on everyone in the team to keep performing or else their own position within the team will be under scrutiny.

I'm a bit with the Gimpo on this one. While he was good last night, the way Brisbane set up really suited him, and his opposition was about VFL standard. I want to see him play some good games against quality before I get too excited. Couldnt fault him last night though.

Geez we got some hard markers in this joint. If the opposition last night was VFL standard then all Essendon players need to be judged by that measure. Not just Myers

Admit it, that first half was bloody ordinary footy.

looked like the bottom two sides playing...not one being top 4.

If J Brown was playing we could have easily lost Sat night. And we will lose against richmond this weekend if the same essendon side turns up.
