Essendon v North Melbourne Pre-Match Discussion

Post by paddyl90 »

So onto this week's game. Once again I'll be brief:

- Hocking to come back from suspension
- A game into Hurley & Watson will definitely help them get back their best
- Fletcher out with hamstring surely?
- Expect a good win, back home under the roof. We haven't lost there all year.
- Surely we will win...surely! It can't get worse with most players back now

Fletch has a corky. Will be right evidently.

If we can't win there (well we've proven we can't win anywhere else) against a very average team - then that's the season for mine.
My material isn't very good..Oh...and then there's the bladder problem.

Stop teasing B.D.

My one alternative would be Browne actually gets a game and Stanton has a week with Bendigo (if fit).

If articles released a short time ago are anything to go by you might not be too far off. Bellchambers, Lonergan, Hocking, Stanton i think were almost certain to return. Be interesting to see!

P.S don't forget our meeting at half time on Saturday! ;)

If Belly returns does that mean we are back with the three rucks?

If Paddy Plays permanent Centre Half Forward/Forward Ruck, Belly and Hille are rotated through the interchange then I could live with that. All three on the ground at the same time - no thanks

Otherwise Paddy out which I cant imagine happening.

I wouldnt mind seeing Hurley playing CHB

My team would be

McVeigh Fletcher Hardingham
Heppell Hurley Hibberd
Colyer Watson Melksham
Jetta Ryder Reimers
Zaharakis, Crameri Monfries

Ruck: Bellchambers Howlett Hocking

I/C Lonergan, Stanton, Hille Sub:Lovett Murray

In :Stanton, Lonergan, Hocking, Bellchambers, Reimers
Out :Myers, Browne, Welsh, Slattery, Hooker

exactly what i want!

CHF/CHB easily switchable if need be

such a shame with Hooker he's got great marking ability but can't run, i think he might be gone with Pears to come in too BUT before even that is decided they must decide where to play Hurley, i think he needs a permanent spot at least for a year or 2

I was tempted to put Ryder in the outs. He did kick 4 goals but still shows no aggression at all.

Hopefully I'll be at the game by 1/4 time, 1/2 time being more realistic to see that the side has turned it around.

Hird: at least four changes - Bellchambers, Hocking, Stanton and Lonergan back. Fletcher should play.

I'd be up for any of Pears, Reimers, Prismall and even Gnomey or Dyson to come in. I'd also keep Browne and let him play a full game.

If we're going to play 3 ruckmen I think Hurley should go to the backline.

Any chance of Williams playing? FFS we're paying him enough and he can't do any worse then Gus. Even Zaka has been horrible lately.

Where is Pears?

He was OK this weekend might as well get him in. At least you know if he gets a shot on goal he'll kick it.

Half a game two weeks ago, 3/4 this week, looked pretty good. I'd have him back in. If Fletcher misses he must come in.

We have really lacked a leading forward the last 3 weeks. Williams can do this job. Has done it before. I would give him a go and see what he can do. With Hurley doing the lead up work it might play into Williams hands. If he gets 5 shots he will kick 4.1. Can't do any worse that what we have had the last 3 weeks.

I agree... I know a lot of ppl on here think he is gone at seasons end... so why not give the Gnome a chance to prove himself. He will fly under the radar a little and could provide that target that we are so desperately craving. I would be tempted to play him ahead of Gus this week.
