What's the positive this week Jim?

Post by Rossoneri »

We run out games well? Maybe because the opposition take the foot off the gas.

RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought I heard him say that one thing all Essendon supporters will see is that every player will be putting in 100%. Tonight I saw three!

Well you can critisize me until the cows come home but I DID think we played better in the second half, (well we couldn't do much worse!), mostly the last term.

And Stants has stood up well after all he shit he copped.

You want a positive? We're not playing Collingwood next week without Rioli!!!

I know this will seem like I am being overly harsh, and compared to some of the shit we have running around in red and black at the moment it's hard not to like Stants, but in my case, tonight is the sort of game, I have been critical of him for. He had no influence on the game until it was lost. He has to find a way to contibute when he is really needed.

Oh I know!! We have a superstar and some other really good players to come back in as we head towards the finals. Oops, that's them, not us. #-o

He and the rest of the team, Robbo.

We started well, now we struggle to be ordinary. That's clear. This will hopefully give those in power a chance to see who is who, and what is what and where the dead wood lie...

I still don't think we're complete crap - but compared to the first half of the season, and where the expectations were of the supporters were we are. That's what is dissapointing - seeing the potential and then facing this.

Tho I see your point re: Stanton, Robbie. It is frustrating when a player - or a team - show up for the last half, or last term and leaves you wondering where that effort was for the rest of the game. More frustratig when that player ends up being one of your BOG...

There are only two positives. Heppell continues to not dish up the rubbish the rest have and Zakarakis played well in the centre in the second half.

Fair dinkum in the second quarter I could feel my stress level get so high with annoyance its actually effecting my health.

The really positive things is that Buddy didn't play so we didn't lose by 150 points.

I've seen one of those against this mob ya know. 160 points in fact.

Yep and so was I.

I was also at Windy Hilll when Fitzroy beat us by 100 in 1979.

Until tonight - these were the 2 games I left feeling the most melancholy and disillusioned.

What's the positive?

We would probably scrape into the finals of any amateur football league in the country. Only just. Probably on percentage.

I'll tell you the positive: any pissant lightweight, wannabe, fly-by-night prognosticator might finally realise the extent of the trouble we are in.

5 years. Count 'em.

Yeah comedy capers.

But---wasn't that the game that led to finally scraping the bottom of the barrel for some new players?

Like Mercuri,Misiti,Olarenshaw,Calthorpe,Hills,Fletcher and Hird.

That game was David Calthorpe's debut. Welcome to the big league!

Hird, Misiti, Mercuri had debuted before that game (and didn't play in this one).

The incredible thing about that abomination of a match (and I remaind their until the final siren), is that 28 matches later our boys were holding the premiership cup aloft. Amazing.
