Stanton

Post by robbie67 »

Oh MY God!!

When he decided to pass from 30 out, and turned it over, and Geelong went straight down the other end to get within a kick......OMG, I thought his career will not survive if we lose this one. On top of everything else that has gone on with him lately, I thought that would be the final straw. Despite my doubts about him, I was really pleased that he didnt have to live through that.

Played a very very good game - but is so down on confidence he couldn't take the simple chance in case he missed and cost the game ... needs to be mentored by a cool head like Heppell or Hibberd.

If we had of lost, yeah, you could have a go.. But, he put his body on the line all night and I can safely say that I was proud of him!!

Chicken and egg.

Did his lack of confidence inspire crowd revolt, or did crowd revolt cause this lack of cofidence in this particular situation?

Bearing in mind what he has been thru this season, I'm not sure I blame him for getting the yips. Lets hope some positive feedback will help after tonight... fragility is not something you want in an AFL player, but it's still human.

Has seriously gone back to playing very good football but not just tonight either.
A very important part of this Team.
I was also very impressed with Prismall especially in the first half tonight...
Well done Boys...

Yep, Stanton was tremendous tonight. Made a couple of errors but so be it.

He was tough and clinches, put his head over the ball and ran hard all night. He's been in our best few players over the last month.

A great response from him.

Really? Stanton was easily in our best. His first half in particular was excellent.

Yep, he was dynamite around the clearances, particularly in the first half.

Toughest I have seen him. With Heath, they just attacked the packs like ramming machines and occassionally Priz was last man up. Unbelievable!!
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

Yep, great game. I'm really pleased, not that he actually put in a good game, but that it was in a huge game against a great team.
