Very good indeed, I reckon he enjoys having Hurley down there with him. I love Hurley in the backline....he plays with such intent and purpose.

Yep, was thinking that during the game.

He has class written all over him. Can do everything required of a defender and has A-grade disposal as well.

He and Hurley would be the best young defenders in the league. Brilliant players.

No argument ... He is one of the keystones of the team!

Played a great game (thats why I gave him votes tonight)

Been saying this for a while - Hurls has to play CHB - thats his natural position. Hibberd, wow, I mean, wow! This boy is seriously good. Hibberd, Hardingham, Pears and Hurley - This is a backline you can probably build a strong team around in 2-3 years. Long way to go yet but gee, with some fire in the belly they made the last 5 weeks look like an illusion

Poor old Hurls in the backline, I get to half time and think he hasn't done much, then by full time I realise he's done EVERYTHING.

Just one more crucial player that we have lost and continue to lose to SERIOUS injury at an unbelievable attrition rate year after F***N year, after F***N year.

I reckon we damn nearly lose more players to serious injury PER GAME EVERY F****N GAME than Geelong have lost in the past 4 F***N YEARS. It's quite unbelievable how they manage to keep that side together game after game year after year. While we had that all time great 2000 team absolutely decimated, first by forced clearances and then by the most horrific run of injuries that I think I've ever seen from any side.

He is a gun, but he was only 1 part of a good unit that snapped together tonight.

we need to clone Hurley.

One for our forward line, one for the backline. he is just brilliant at both ends of the ground.

The side looks so much more settled with Pears charging out from the backline.

As much as I prefer Hurley forward for team structure he looks damn good down back.

Just wish he would kick it long when in doubt rather than handpass.

But did play well.

Dempsey/Hooker - although I prefer Dempsey for his pace as long as he can be accountable. Hooker I have some long term concerns with but does give options

Long term, maybe A Long or Tyson Slattery?

Still the odd turnover from him but one of the few players in our team that will consistently break tackles. Not only that but he has the confidence to continue to do so even if he makes a mistake.

Yes, especially when the great Gadget man eventually hangs up his boots.... Hurley, Pears and Hooker will be 3 damn fine key defenders.

Just need some help at the other end now, Gumbleton and Carlisle dont scream out danger for opposition backlines....

Hooker would be perfect if he can learn to bend his knees while running, needs better in close skills but given time he'll get better and in a team playing well he wont need to rush his efforts as much

hmmmm...Hooker...I dont think so. I like his attitude, but I dont think he will ever be much more than a depth player. Hope I am wrong though.
