Just read that Justin Blumfield has retired from all forms of footy.

What a sad end to such a promising career

Will always be one of the 2000 Invincibles

A great servant to the EFC and spending two years at Bendigo to help out our kids.

Missed out on life membership by one year, when traded to Richmond.

Tip my hat to you Justin, well played.

Missed out on a Norm Smith in 2000 by a bee's proverbial. Great player when in form.

Noticed how he was taken off the field half-way through the last quarter! :P

Was a good player for the club.

All the best Blummers. Shame about the trading with Cara, Hardwick and Heff. Good that he won a premiershi medal.

Last I heard he was lining up for Balywn in the EFL. Certainly have been lots of rumours regarding him being on big cash there.

does anyone know why we didnt re-draft him when richmond dumped him?

and why he's quit footy all together? was a very solid player for us... surely his foot skills, overhead marking and pack marking abilities would of been useful in our side full of running players.

A high injury risk. Was breaking down a fair bit at the tigers and the club did consider him, but the injury factor killed him. He was a decent footballer with an excellent "footy brain".

Because by that stage, he was shit.

He retired back in August. I think his mum said he was going to concentrate on the player management business that he has with Ricky Olarenshaw

I still reckon we would've re drafted him for 2005 but Greg Miller going through the wrong door on the Zantuck trade in my opinion may have cost him his chance.

Disappointing the way it ended for Blumfield. Was a personal fave of mine, and to see the way his career went down the tubes at Richmond was hard to watch. An absolute champion bloke, and could play a damn good game of footy when fit and in form.

All the best Justin.
