Facilities or training/playing surface?
Facilities or training/playing surface?
I find it hard to believe that our "out-dated" facilities are the main reason for our injuriy crisis. These same facilities were considered state of the art just a short while ago, and North were a great team just over 10 years ago, and they had no facilities at all.
Someone mentioned in here that Windy Hill is hard as a rock right now, and if you couple that with the amount of footy we play on concrete at Sponsor Dome, could it be that these surfaces have more to do with how f***** we are, compared to not having the latest rowing machine?

If that is the case start wearing Gel soles - they cushion your feet...
No excuses...
How about somebody give the Guys some httfu pills instead.
This is beyond a joke...

Harden, toughen the f*** up and for the record it was a little joke.
Better than smashing the first scum supporter I see...
But seriously blaming this and blaming that. etc.
There is seriously something wrong with the way that we are training our Guys...
Why else do we have great players with injury prone bodies...
You tell me...
If you don't condition players properly they will break down...
And Yes I know that we had injurys like Dempsey,Winder.Prismall today but ask the serious question???
How did they happen. They were running on their own and a sudden shift in movement...
What does that tell you?
Not conditioned properly and putting the human body under excessive strain.... constant soft tissue injurys...
Need to find somebody who believes in building up core strength...
Not just muscle
There is a massive difference...

Re: Facilities or training/playing surface?
Plain and simple.Whilst I believe that the surfaces probably aren't helping matters,I feel that our conditioning staff are the real problem.
Perhaps the reason that Cormack has moved on...
I believe that way too much emphasis has been placed on cardio which Yes is still very important but I feel very little on building up core strength...
Anybody can lift weights, but to do it under extreme circumstances.eg.set after set with very little rest...week in and week out...
This builds core strength.
This is what is needed pre-season....
Build from the inside out...
When the body is put under extreme pressure it stands up...
This in turn minimises injury as the body doesn't get fatigued as easily...
Having said that this is only my opinion.

While looking for blame what about Peter Jackson's "green" contribution.
Those bloody great big water tanks under the ground stuck there with great fanfare a few years ago.
Dig 'em up.
