AFLPA Nominations

Post by boncer34 »

Watson, Fletcher and Heppell all nominated by the AFLPA for the AFL MVP award.
Heppell nominated for best first year player.
Watson nominated for best captain.
Hocking nominated for most courageous player.

Watson was the one I expected although I still think his season has been average. Fletcher nominated at his age is brilliant and the same must be said for Heppell.
Essendon Football Club- We arent arrogant, just deluded.

Naa Ms M - Abblett is the best first year player

My understandng of how this works is that each club nominates three players for the MVP, and one player for each of the other categories... which all AFL players then vote on.

It is most instructive to note that EFC consider Fletch, Jobe and Heppell as the most valuable players (might have thought that Hurley may have got a look in) and Hocking as the most courageous player. It is also instructive to see some of the inclusions and omissions by other clubs.
