Thanks to Ross for the idea.

MARK JOHNSON

YEAR GAMES KICKS HANDBALLS MARKS GOALS
2006 22 212 146 100 9

Did very well to play every game, but was only a shadow of his last years form. Good in patches, but nothing too special. Took our mark of the year, but was inconsistent. Hopefully he will be better next season once again.

Rating out of ten: 5

Your opinion of him, and ratings guys.

Definitely a backward step from the excellence of the last 2 years. It seems MJ has this problem of having great then mediocre seasons. Needs to become more consistent rather than more spectacular.

Still in our Top 10

6.5.

Played well up forward last year, why didnt he get more of a run up forward this year, especially early on. Later in the year went forward and kicked a couple of goals.

Not his best, not consistent enough. Is still a tough little bugger and can make a difference, but we've seen him do better.
Along with JJ, Soly and McPhee he struggled, but probably did better than them over the season.
Looking forward to 2007 no doubt.

Played okay, but we all know what he is capable of.
I'll give him 1 extra point cause he sat on Buckley's head and took that great mark!

6.5/10

5/10 was sometimes useful when he went forward and still provides some much needed grunt, but disappointing at times too - really had no idea against brad johnson in the last game.

Lacked consistency. At times he was his old self, brilliant and aggresive, but other times he just couldnt get near it.

A solid pre-season should put him back.

As Windy said, Still in our top 10.

Not his best season, but like JJ finished better than he started. Even when having poor games though, his discipline was good, which I was happy with. Would have been easy for him to "do a Solly".

5.5 out of 10.

He just went this year Johnno, probably due a quiet one as he has been a standout the previous two.

I wonder how many people will be posting in these threads once there are about thirty of them?

MJ had a pretty good year, got better towards the end. Nothing too significant to report. Its a bit disappointing that he didnt have a better year after his near-BF season in 2005, but was pretty serviceable none the less.

He was taught to play the old game of AFL. The game has become quicker and more reliant on foot skills. That has hurt him and Solomon for that matter. However he has gotten around that and become a solid player.

dont forget he was having sholder problems at the start of the season, Im pretty sure I read somewhere that his body had developed a reaction to the painkillers or somthing that he had been using in his sholders,

stepped up to be one of our best midfielders last year who went forward and could be relied on to licl goals. End up with about 30 last year.

Not a shadow of the player he was in 2005 this year. Started the season back in the midfield and struggled massively!!!

Didn't kick many goals when he did go forward this year, and only really looked comfortable and started playing some decent footy he went back to his old post in the backline.

Held out for more money at the end of last season, and didn't back up the club's decision to give it to him.

Needs to rebound next year.

5.5 from me.

Had a poor first half of the year but has improved in the 2nd and has been pretty good.

Had play of the night on Friday when he won it out of the middle, ran past 2 WB players and delivered onto Stantons chest 40 out. Magic Johnson!

He had some good games during the year but they were few and far between.

Compared to years gone by I'll give him a 5/10.
