You could almost get Sheeds to coach this team as Essendon have seven representatives!!!!

Lovett, NLM, Ryder, Cole, Dempsey ,Jetta and Davey!!!!!

Next closest: Freo has five representatives.

2007 Indigenous All-Stars squad:

Adelaide: Andrew McLeod, Graham Johncock. Brisbane: Chris Johnson.
Carlton: Eddie Betts.
Collingwood: Chris Egan.
Essendon: Andrew Lovett, Lovett Murray, Courtney Dempsey, Richard Cole, Patty Ryder, Leroy Jetta, Alwyn Davey.
Fremantle: Jeff Farmer, Troy Cook, Andrew Grover, Roger Hayden, Des Headland.
Geelong: Mathew Stokes, Travis Varcoe, Nathan Djerrkura, Liam Bedford.
Hawthorn: Mark Williams, Lance Franklin, Chance Bateman.
Kangaroos: Daniel Wells.
Melbourne: Aaron Davey, Bryon Pickett.
Port Adelaide: Shaun Burgoyne, Peter Burgoyne, Danyle Pearce, Daniel Motlop.
Richmond: Richard Tambling, Andrew Krakouer.
St Kilda: Xavier Clarke.
Sydney: Adam Goodes, Michael O'Loughlin.

At least the complete Essendon list will get a work out when we play the All Stars on February 9th.

So our aboriginal players will be playing against our other players?

Yep, well the ones that get selected anyway. Imagine Davey runs 20m handballs to Davey runs 20m handballs to Lovett runs 20m... goal. :P

Pretty stupid that our abbo players are playing against us. Its Essendon vs indigenous all stars, not whites vs blacks.

Just stupid.

watch ya wording there rosso

Why? Abbo is short for aboriginal.

If I called it "coon" or some other remark like that, then that would be wrong.

Rosso, I totally agree and had this same argument with my teacher in high school but sadly abbo is viewed as a derogatory statement... christ knows why, it's no worse than calling Anglo saxons 'anglos'???

It's about how the term is received, not how it's expressed.

You could say it and mean it in the most non judgemental, well meaning way, but if the term is received as derogatory then it's derogatory to the person hearing it.

Good. Even though they should be playing for us, its good that most will be getting used to playing with the more senior players.

Would our players take the chance to hit any of our three?

Or will they give them extra protecton?

I suppose its no worse than intra club, but you'd have to say an ankle injury to one of the 3 guys from a tough tackle, etc..
