Dare I say it but Gus, had he kicked the two goals from dead in front, could have snuck in the votes!!!!

But missing those 2 goals was criminal

5. Ryder - 46 hitouts, stood up in the absence of Hille and competed all game.
4. Watson - played a gutsy captains game. 13 tackles really impressed me.
3. Crameri - presented all day and kicked straight
1. Jetta - made the most of all his opportunities (one of his better games for the club)
1. Stanton - backed up last weeks good game with another consistent performance. Good to see him kicking another couple of goals

Unlucky; Dempsey, Hurley, Fletcher.

Were we watching the same game. Ryder had 46 hitouts cause his opponent is slow and cant jump. Crameri was also pretty poor imo.

Based on 4 quarters ... not those who popped up for a quarter ... also strange game dominant in midfield but backline leaked and our forward line was smacked (look at inside 50's I think we were at least 2 to one ... and a depressingly significant number of our goals came from 50m penalties or bombs from outside 50)

But the votes
5. Watson ... lots'a tackles
4. Stanton
3. Dempsey
2. Jetta
1. Ryder

Apolos to Crameri who did very good ... but I set my criteria on 4 quarter impact (yeah I know that this may be dependant on delivery but...)

Crameri pretty poor? I agree that it wasnt a 4 qrt performance however 15 possies and 3 goals is not poor. Not to mention that he was huge in the last qrter. His mark and goal 40 meters out was outstanding. Zara kicked it on his head and gave the port defender every chance to spoil but Crameri stood strong and took the mark and slotted the goal. He was also involved in 2 other goals in the last when we were undermanned and under the pump.

Certainly worthy of votes IMO.

Given the (unfortunate) opportunity to ruck all day - Ryder did what we have wanted him to do for years. He completely dominated the ruck in the center and around the ground and gave our midfielders every chance to get first take on the ball. Take him out of the game today and we lose. That's why he was my b.o.g. It's irrelevant that he played on an inferior opponent, that is the oppositions coaching staffs issue. He saw a weakness and exploited it much to our advantage. Something I think he has consistently failed to do in the past much to all our frustration.

Crameri pretty poor? Are you taking the piss?

Ryder dominated the ruck solo style and did it very well

Dempsey - 23 disposals, 6 contested at 74%. 6 marks, 2 clearances, 4 1%ers. 1 goal: Lots of run & rebound with a brill goal as well.
Jetta - 15 disp, 2 contested at 87%. 6 marks, 4 goals: 4 goals from a small forward & quality disposal is a good return.
Ryder - 13 disp, 5 contested at 69%. 46 hitouts. 5 marks, 6 tackles: Dominated the ruck solo & gave the midfield every opportunity.
Watson - 25 disp, 17 contested at 60%. 6 marks, 7 clearances, 13 tackles: Huge contested effort.
Stanton - 25 disp, 8 contested at 80%. 5 marks, 3 clearances, 2 goals: Solid all day & a couple of goals.

Also good: Fletch (93% efficiency & 10 1%ers), Crameri (3 goals), Howlett (86% efficiency, 13 tackles), Gus (21 disp at 81% efficiency & 14 contested, 7 marks, 5 tackles, 1 goal).

Watson was great (as always) but just thought the silly 50m again and the two shots he had outside his range were not what we need from senior players and especially the captain. He gave away the 50m last week for the same thing....
