Changes for Swans

Post by Ronny Rotten »

In : Anyone with heart & a tough mental attitude.

Out: Especially those guys who miss SET SHOTS FOR GOAL from up to 30 meters out on slight angles . This has happened a lot this year , it almost cost us a game against Norf , cost us dearly against the filth ( Crameri ) , definitely cost us the game tonight 6 - 16 FFS , even with our sub standard all round performance. By my reckoning 6 points (Crameri , Hurley (2) Ryder (2),Colyer ) & 1 out on full ( Hurley ) should have been goals. Game over by half time .
SCOREBOARD PRESSURE IS SO UNDERESTIMATED.

OUT : NLM , Pears , Melksham

IN : Hooker , Heppell , Reimers or Hibberd (if fit)

Got to be a bit careful that we dont go too crazy with the ins and outs. The whole team were shite tonight but I will say this

1) Melksham is a player screaming out for an extended run in the ressies - he needs to work on his pace and decison making with the ball.
2) Monfries - I have backed him for many seasons but he is gone for all money at the moment. Looks completely lost out there - Jetta and Davey's decent form has pushed Gus to the cul de sac of football - he has no where to go

I heard that Reimers and Dell'Olio were good in a winning Bendigo side - could be worth a look.

We may not have Heppell for another week which means after the bye for him.

Hooker should be back which means probably a return to the ressies for Tayte. As for Tayte, he surely needs a few hard weeks with the Weapon, he looks like hi has lost his muscle bulk this year - maybe all those injuries have taken their toll

So you start by saying your outs will be those who miss set shots and then decide to drop two defenders and midfielder...nice consistency

Melksham definately needs to find form in the two's. Cannot continue to have 12-14 possession games with no impact. Great potential, and when on song is terrific, but as of now a liability.

To be honest with you, I don't think we need to over react with wholesale changes.

Apart from a couple, the team played awful, arrogant football agaisnt a team they show no respect to.

I reckon they'll be pretty fired up next Saturday against a Sydney who has no Goodes after the coaches put the through the ringers during the week on the training track.

If this loss doesn't hurt like f****** hell so they want to absolutely torture next weeks opponent, then we need to start making changes and play those who give a shit.

I would definitely drop Pears. Panicked every time he got it and turned it over or gave a hospital handpass off to someone else who then turned it over. The rest of the defence (especially Carlisle & Hardingham) did ok. The real weak spot was the forward line, who couldn't bag a goal to save themselves. We had way more inside 50s than them in the first half and should have been at least 4 goals in front at half time.

I don't think they'll make many changes.

I wouldn't drop Pears. The bloke needs confidence, if they drop him to the twos every second week, he won't have any. For all those people on here that say players should be dropped to the twos to find some confidence - I'm not sure if you have ever played the game at a decent level - but I think that is bullshit.

Throwing this out there.

In: hooker hibberd gumbleton
Out: pears melksham bellchambers.

Ryder rucks the whole match with small spells supported by someone not specialised like carlisle.

And lets get our forward line functioning with gumby, hurley and cram.

NLM to sub permanently. Loners to play full games(wtf hirdy?) same with davey.

I'll wait for the flames then justify this slightly wacky proposal.

LOL at the idiots calling for Melksham to be dropped instead of NLM. Must watch the game with your f****** eyes closed.

Oh and a double dose of the brain pills for you little ripper. Gumbleton? Really? Brains? no.

Good post Col.

After a night's sleep I have managed to calm down and realise that (hopefully) last night's performance was an aberration that will not be repeated anytime soon.

Minimal changes (imo) but a week spent on the track improving delivery into our forward fifty...the stats for inside 50's versus goals kicked was disgraceful.

Maybe the club should look at "inside forward 50's to advantage" because the normal stat only highlighted how poor our entries were.

But Rob...Gumby's the missing piece...get him in and premiership glory will be ours.

(either that or he will get injured again)

Why....what has he done to deserve a game at this stage?

Surely the club is now about earning a spot rather than being given one.

They will i think bring in guys who deserve the game though. If right hooker is best 22. same with hibberd.

Be great when we have a backline of hooker fletcher hardingham hibberd dempsey and carlisle.
