Jobe handled that potentially difficult question from McAlvaney with absolute class.

Jobe wouldn't be the player his is without Sheeds. So I thank Sheeds.

Listening to his acceptance speech, I would suggest that he wouldn't be the player he is without the influence of his father.

I wouldn't give Sheeds much credit at all.

There's no way he would've had as much motivation without Sheedy giving him a boot up the arse.

Michaelanglo Rucci can get rooted as well. I'm sure he is a Twitter troll.

Sheeds was pretty much on the mark in Jobe's early days at the club. As Jobe noted in his speech, "I had a bit of a heart-to-heart as all fathers do with their sons and Dad said: 'You don't have to do this if you don't want to, but at the moment you're not doing much. If you do want to do it, you have to pull your finger out.' "

Had it not been for Sheeds pushing, and the Old Man being so brutally honest, he may have gone through his whole career in cruise control. Full credit to Jobe though for the way he took it all on board and the work he put in to turn his football career around. To see the way he has grown both as a person & a footballer has been a pleasure to watch. True leader of Men both on and off the field and great to see him reap the rewards this season with Acnowledgment from all corners of the AFL (Media, Umpires & Peers).

Here's hoping players around him see what is required to become one of the elite players in the AFL and are prepared to work as hard to get there. Would be no prouder moment for any Essendon fan than to see Jobe and Jimmy holding the cup aloft on the last day in September in the not too distant future...
