Ess VFL team

Post by Mrs Mercuri »

Interesting to see which players we target to put on our VFL list for next season. Unfortunately our leading goal kicker Matt Little won't be a part of it as he has now quit footy to take over as our VFL manager...

Basically Bendigo will have first choice of the players but I doubt many of the Melb based players will want to continue with the Gold.

Interesting that we are trying to lure former Bomber Marcus Marigliani to the club as a VFL player. I reckon David Rodan would be someone we should def target if he doesn't find a new home as well. Nice to see we are trying to base our team around how the premiership winning Cats are set up. A solid group of VFL listed players is crucial for any chance of success next year mixed with our young kids!

Hopefully we get some good youngsters that are overlooked in the drafts, get them in a semi professional environment, and really use the VFL team as a feeder team for our seniors. Would be a great way to fill up our rookie lists.

Hope its a core of essendon senior listed and rookie players doing the work.

Will mean that there is a lack of injuries at the club and a good bunch of blokes jostling for a senior spot.
