I would just like to give a special mention to Jake Melksham. Thought he did some excellent things tonight. Demps unlucky not to get votes too.

If he would just half his amount of f****** turnovers. He has so much going for him, but he has to improve this or he is never going to be more than a bit player.

5. Jobe - would not want anyone else leading this club. One of the true champions
4. Carlisle - becoming scarily good at both ends
3. Ryder - thought he played very well against cox and Nic Nat majority of the game. Put Nic Nat back in his place
2. Licha - pace and pressure in forward line exactly what we have been missing last couple years
1 Stants - usual solid game we have come to expect from him

I must admit, I didn't notice that too much from him tonight. I did notice a few critical winning contested balls - particularly in the last quarter.

One thing is for sure, I'm gonna watch a replay of this game. So I'll pay more attention to his dark side tonight

1. Nick Kommer- gets one for that effort in the last quarter that lead to the Davey goal alone, I love that sort of shit.

5. Watson - 29 poss, 7 clearances, 5 marks, 5 tackles, 2 goals + putting up with a mass of dickheads - priceless.
4. Winderlich - 17 poss at 94.1%. 10 marks. 3 goals & an assist - very smart skilful player.
3. Carlisle - 2 brill goals. 8 marks & 3 contested. 17 poss at 88%. THE target man for us forward.
2. Ryder - 29 hitouts, was brill in that last qtr. We won the hitouts 41-38 against the best ruck combo around. Also nice goal.
1. Stanton - worked his way into the game as you'd expect from him. 27 poss, 6 clearances, 5 tackles.

5 - Ryder. Towelled up Nic Nat and broke even with Cox. Huge effort considering Belly contributed SFA.
4 - Watson. Massive effort considering the week he had. Led with aplomb.
3 - Carlisle. Held Kennedy then kicked 2 vital goals when he went forward. Already a star.
2 - Hibberd. Great composure and drive off HB
1 - Stanton. Solid 4 quarter effort.

I thought he did well by his standards, but there were still some awful turnovers. There was a patch in the first quarter where there were 4 or 5 throw ins in WC's forward 50 and Melksham seemed to get the clearance in all of them - they all went to WC players, including one terrible nothing handball (that directly cost us a goal) and one where he had plenty of time and he kicked it 50m with pinpoint accuracy to a WC player.

All of the above is true - he did do some excellent things, but his disposal was often dodgy too. Overall - a better game from him than his average.

Also Melksham missed a very gettable shot very late in the game.

I know I shouldn't say this but geez it would be a F****** laff if the AFL decided to take Jobe's medal off him only to hand him another.

It was the point that got us in front. It was an easy shot under a lot of pressure because the scores were level. He played really well tonight, I think he's finally starting to get some belief in himself. Hopefully he can keep it up.
