That's one way of giving himself a big chance of being picked up by Essendon if he has the goods.

Is this as good as it gets for Aaron, or does he have the goods to play senior footy?.

Well there seems to be a knock on him despite being recognised as one of the VFL's best inside mids/extractors. Disposal is supposed to be so-so and this is supported by his stats.

Last season he averaged 11.6 kicks a match at 50.4% effective and 8.7 Handballs a game at 77% effective. He also averaged 6.5 handball receives a game, 5.5 tackles a game and 0.4 goals a game. (stats from sportsTG http://websites.sportstg.com/team_info. ... 2-26138791)

He’s around 25. I think his AFL aspiration days are over. I think the pace of AFL would be too great for him. Very good VFL player though. Absolute terrier when it comes to tackling and defensive actions.

He is just too small and too easily shoved off the ball or ineffective in the huddle.
His disposal lets him down as well.
Not AFL standard, unfortunately.

He tries his guts out and runs all day and has been impressive at the pointy end of the VFL comp in the last couple of years. A worthy captain.

Solid player with an enormous work ethic. Busts his guts for every minute of the game. Fantastic appointment.
