The Weapon's $ettlement

Post by Windy_Hill »

The guy has won tattslotto - almost $1Million payout (or is that "shut up" money)

Never in her wildest dreams would Mrs Robinson have thought her dolt of a son would fall into such money.

WHen will the bleeding of cash end at Essendon - no wonder they dont want to appeal the Court Case

Hope you guys are up for a bit of tin rattling around Puckle Street in the coming years

No f****** chance. Would rather the club die, and therefore, my interest in AFL die.

I would, however, follow Essendon in lawn bowls, cricket, and any other adventure they may put their name to.

f*** AFL. Seriously.

One report says 800k. Which is almost $1m, which is almost $1.2m, which is almost 1.5m, which is almost 2m. Which is almost 2.5m which is almost 3m etc etc.

We as a Club better not have paid a single cent of this settlement. it is f****** hush money, the AFL are the ones who wanted him silenced, so they are the ones that can pay for him to keep his mouth f****** shut.
The bloke was inept at his job as evidence by the 345,786,394 soft tissue injuries we had over 2011/2012. Surely if he was any good at his job he would have known that the extensive bulking up of the players Hird wanted over the 2011/2012 would lead to these injuries but he still implemented the program.

The f***wit was directly responsible for the supervision of Stephen Dank, so was responsible for the direct supervision of the supplement program, and yet he has no been forced to take any responsibility for that clusterfuck. He's meanwhile got paid a 6 figure sum to go on National TV and spout whatever crap he wanted about James Hird knowing he had been gagged by the AFL, ASADA and the Club and could not defend himself. Paint himself as a another victim of Hird and the his evil supplement program and because it suited the media's agenda the f****** ran with it.

Even if the supplement program was totally legitimate and it was well governed and there wasn't the slightest thing dodgy about it, he was still failing at his job. The only reason he wasn't sacked by the club at the end of 2012 was because they didn't want to pay him. The supplement sage broke and then he was stood down on full pay. WTF!!

From reports the ****** went outside of the protcols over the supplement program on several occasions and recommenced injecting players with substance before they were signed off by Doc Reid.

From reports Hird and Reid requested that Board sack him several times due to the above, which they again refused because they didn't want to pay him out.

Then there was the shit about him approving the payment of receipts produced by Dank for shit the club never received. Didn't he approve the payment of a f****** $60K invoice, that had nothing to do with the club?

Yet the Board has decided to settle out of court and pay this f***wit another f****** $1 million for being one of the most heavily responsible for us finding ourselves in our current situation because it suited the f****** AFL.

Get f***** Weapon, get f***** EFC Board, get f***** AFL!!

Well, that's all very interesting. But would he have been at the club if it were not for Bomber Thompson and James Hird?

As much of a disaster as he was, you have to look at the dynamic duo for the guy being there in the first place. And throw Corcoran into the equation, Hird takes a little more heat for the overall crap our footy department ended up being.

Love both Hird & Bomber, and always will. But they have made mistakes. Let's not forget that. Or at least, let's start acknowledging it.

No I certainly agree with that.

Hird and Bomber have both made plenty of mistakes in this saga, which have lead us to where we are.

It just shits me that one of the main architects of the mess we currently find ourselves in has not only pretty much got off scott free because it has suited the media's agenda, but that we've ended up paying him around $1 million to go away and shut up.

Nearly a million for wrongful dismissal ... when he in fact resigned...

Why didn't we hire his lawyer ... seems that he did a much better job than the Club's or Hird's...

Dean has a life style and a lot of debt $1M won't go far or last long.

Why don't we just give people a $1M when they start and that's their out the door money when we sack them, saves everyone going to court.

One should exact vengeance with a cold heart. My way will be to vote against any AFL dog on the Board who was in favour of this settlement.

Can anyone explain to my why The Weap was never charged with bringing the game into disrepute. Wasn't he at the Epicentre of the whole shebang. And if he was against the whole program, then why didn't he go whistle blower

FWIW the AFL will be picking up the bill on this one.

It'll be creatively accounted for in the books.
