Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

Im going to keep this simple for us all.

NO PLAYER BASHING. Except other teams players.

Tell us what you liked and what you didnt like from what we saw in the game. Keep the long winded whinging or bagging to a minimum or none.

LIKED....

Fletcher and Micheal backline
Monfries, Winderlich, Lovett, Houli, Davey, Ryder
Size of Laycock
HOW CAMERON CLOKE IS THE WORST PLAYER IN THE AFL

DISLIKED

How slow Lloyd looked
Bradley, Lovett-Murray
The hands in the back rule
POOR FOOTSKILLS
Low impact from Johns, Hird, Stanton, Hille
CARLTON SUPPORTERS

Your turn, abide by my rules.

not kicking the ball long. I thought when Sheeds said that we will play attacking football he meant that we would carry the ball and kick it long. All we did was handpass to stationery targets (and Bradley who is a witches hat) and kick short to no one.
He kicks on the left
He kicks on the riiiiiiiiigggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhttttttttttttt
That boy Hurley
Makes Riewoldt look shite!

NLM's kidney punch on Fev

Disliked:
-Our lack of endevour and resorting to playing with the ball when it was in our backline.
-The lack of sheperding
-Our ruck play was horrible.
-Soft free kicks one way but not the other.
-Our lack of aptitude to adapt our game to the new in the back rule.

Liked/What went well

Houli - although a bit slow at first, he picked up the pace of the game the more he played. He just looked like he will be a player

Davey - 7-8 tackles, pace and a never say die attitude

Gus - no scarring from the hawthorn game last year...two banana goals and the one in the last quarter was a beauty.

The smaller forward line with Gus, Davey and Lovett

Didn't like/what went wrong

getting beaten by f****** carlton

Smashed in the midfield and the ruck (maybe we should just punch the ball forward like we did in the last quarter on several occasions)

The three big forwards...it just didn't work at all

The interpretation of the in the back rule....sure, if it's a push then pay it, but don't call what you THINK might have happened

it is sooo bad. i spent the night making bad free kick jokes all night...even during the commercials.

40 free kicks, and i noticed not once did the stat go up on the screen.
The game is soft. the ads for water polo looked more exciting.

seriously though

Like:
Lovett's confidence
Stants as the new ball carrier
Monfries all round.
Lloyds aggression.

Dislike:
Bradley's disposal/decision making :?
Hands in the back...the rule is push, you need to push for the free to be paid. the rule gets softer every year. why have defenders.
Ruck. did we have one? Hille, Ryder, Laycock? anyone not wanna get towelled by Ackland/Cloke.
Forward line tenacity. Names like Hird, Lucas and Lloyd should read for a good scoreline. The delivery was there, but the contests werent. what happened. no blame on individual players, but did we have a forward line strategy?

Goal kicking (if that was what it was) Sheeds in his post match interview said they need to do more goal kicking. Talk about stating the obvious

Liked:
-The fightback to finish within 4 after a shite 1st half.
-The run of Lovett, Winder, Dempsey and Stanton
-Seeing Lloyd and Michael in the red & black
-The debuts of Houli and Davey, both look very good
-Monfries

Disliked:
-The lack of endeavour in the 1st half.
-The very soft frees Fevola got.
-The poor finishing.
-Seeing Stants and Watson (among others) try to hit targets by foot and failing.

Disappointed we lost, but not that concerned. The Michael/Fletcher combination will get better, so will the Lloyd/Lucas/Johns combo up forward. We finally have pace thru the midfield just need to tighten up disposal/defensive running.
