Round 4 vs Filth

Didn't see the game against the Scum so can't comment on how things went...
Looks like Cooney will miss and IMO, Chappy may get a rest as well...

So that's 2 changes...who comes in?
Filth were very good against the Aints after ΒΌ time, but it was the Aints...Hurley will again be named as CHF, but again, will go down back and take on Cloke...he is in form back there and has both the size and engine to go with Cloke...beyond Cloke, the Pies can get a few goals from their mids who can be dangerous, but their forwards are basically crap...

We need a bit of run - so probably Dempsey to replace Cooney.

Looked like Howlett did his groin when he kicked the last goal - if so we'll need a second runner to replace him

No rest for Chappy - will be needed.

Worried about this one, should have beat them this time last year. They look fresh after an easy win but we are a much better side. We really need to do better at the clearances and contested ball this week as we were smashed in these areas yesterday.

.
Stayed on and had another shot on goal so should be ok.

Couldn't work out if Howlett was cramped or injured.

Dempsey would have to come in for Cooney. But let's see who plays well in the VFL today...

I hope so - but he seemed to grab at his groin - I was right behind it and it didn't look good - appeared as though something gave.

Don't want to mess with the back 6 who are just about the best in the AFL, but we lose anymore inside grunt, maybe Bags will need to move into the mids?

Anyway, this is no ordinary ANZAC Day game; it is a 1 in a 100 years game. It is a history making game; it must be a win.

Go get 'em Bombers.

We were awful at the clearances yesterday. I thought TBC had a shocker. Was getting pushed out of the contest to easily. I would go for an in and under type.

Dempsey needs some game time...would not risk his flighty style in such a game

Need warriors not show ponies.

Perhaps Lachy Dalgleish.

Anyone know who the VFL went today?

Think he might have been injured during the game.

I still don't think he has shown enough.

We lost by a point after the siren. Dempsey was very good all day and I would expect him to play. Otherwise Hams might be a surprise selection, he was probably best on.

That being the case - they should both be named. Reward for effort and both provide run.

Ashby could do with a run - so unless there are other injury concerns - one of these two to be the sub.

BTW - I agree with the commentary around pissing the sub off and just having 4 on the bench. Now that we have capped rotations - the sub is no longer justified (as if it ever was).

Yeah, injured again FFS.

I think he's good. That's if he can sustain a period on the park.

I agree, get rid of the sub rule.

Would love to be there, but I can't even get to our President's Luncheon at our Home Games.

There is a contingent of 4 coming over from my way,who throw a Dart or 3 over a few drinks on Thursday Nights.

Only 1 is an ESSENDON Supporter, who tells me he's only missed 4 since the ANZAC DAY Blockbuster against the Pies started in '95.

Good luck Bombers!Get the Job done fellas!

2 BOG`s in a row to Hams in the 2s, maybe his first game of the year could be Anzac Day?

Dempsey for Coons.

We have definitely been smashed in the middle all season (no Hocking & Myers hurts) but I also worry about the TBC / Daniher combo. Giles would probably be a liability at this point too so their isn't much we can do at this point. I've mentioned it at a certain point every game this season, 'gee we miss ryder'. Only way I see us losing is Swan and Pendles dominating out the middle. Our speed will trouble them.

ps was it last year (or the previous) when Dempsey returned from injury to play his first game of the season on anzac day and made a few blunders and looked out of sorts?
