Weak as piss. Beat Hawthorn and believed their own press.

Hilarious how bad they were.

Maggots were similar but the chip chip chip f****** chip is what burned us.

Not soft. Lacking the ability to adapt. Conditions suited the Filth.

Walking back to the car, I heard :

"Up for 3 weeks, no wonder we were off
"2 and 2 is not a bad result"
Conditions did not suit us"

What a crock of shit. We got beaten because we cannot play wet weather football and have not been able to since we left the "G". We over finessed as if it was a dry day, handballed ourselves into trouble, played wide and turned it over.

Bennie Howlett said as much in a post game interview and also that they were aware of the problem and still persevered with this dinky little game when what was required is what Hawthorn do so well and that is to just belt it down the ground no matter how.

Another game we have dropped when we are expected to win. No excuses, just a shithouse effort.

We over used the ball and got into useless hot potato handball, skills poor.
This game was gone half way through the third quarter.
Football is a wet weather game put the sprinklers on and play and practice in the wet.
Our forward line is backward definitely not forward.
We were outcoached, outsmarted and outplayed. Woeful coaching performance by us. ](*,) I could go on but I won't.

Love it how we are heroes against the Dawks and Lovechild but when the conditions don't suit us and mentally we are off, we are suddenly soft.

We played dumb Footy.

We are not soft.

Can someone please explain why every handball today was so slow. Some of those handballs a snail could have intercepted.

That is the worst ee have played for yonks.

MH...it is wet....despite the aget being changed a lot....it gets heavy...so handballs are really hard to execute....ergo you bang the thing in as far as you can into our half.....in our half they can't score......we didn't do that so turnovers killed us.

Footy is a mind game...you have to adapt...we didn't.

On a fine day where our height advantage comes into play, we would have killed them with our game plan. Unfortunately Jim's dry weather game plane doesn't work in shit conditions.

He had no Plan B or if he did, the lads didn't do it.

Simple.

Plus the run of the ball...that tattooed simpleton kicking a goal a metre out of bounds told me early in the 1st ....we were in trouble. Can't beat a fluke day.

We had 30 more games experience per player. They had 12 guys with less than 50 games.

We lost the contested ball. Says it all.

We played great wet weather footy against Sydney in round 1.

Today, we didn't play wet weather footy.

Aside from that.. we didn't man up, we were too slow, our intensity was putrid.

Very very soft. Attack on the ball and the man terrible. No sheparding, as usual.

Didn't watch the game, not going to bother...
At start of year if you had said we'd be 2 and 2 after 4 rounds having played Sydney and Hawks with the prep we had, I would've been happy.
However, having beaten the Hawks and should have beaten Sydney, I am pissed that we lose to a side that is 'rebuilding' that we should have beaten...

My question, aside from how we played, is did the coach pick the right team for the conditions - did we go in too tall?
