Bombers Come From Far and Wide

Post by Windy_Hill »

Here is the breakdown of where our squad originates from

VIC - 17
WA - 7
SA - 5
TAS - 4
QLD - 2
NSW/ACT - 2
NT - 1

More than half the team comes from outside of Victoria. Long gone are the days when Dimboola or Horsham were the most common names under the player origin heading.

I cant recall a time when we had so many Sandgropers in the team.

Perhaps an interseting poll would be to name our best ever interstate recruits from each of the states

Here Goes

WA - G Moss, D Bewick, B Duckworth, L Baker
SA - G Wanganeen, G Anderson, S Wellman
NSW/ACT - J Hird, D Solomon, T Daniher
TAS - ??
NT - M Long
QLD - ??

Yep...he was one of the players we gave up as part of the arrangement for each club to supply the bears with players.

I think he thought it would be a good time to go home.
