Huge game vs the Cattery

Massive season defining game next Saturday night- no more Mr nice Hirdy at the slection table please, players need to be put on notice!

Fletcher surely will be rested, Watson is also in doubt and I would be dropping Bellchambers and Ambrose to start with. Who comes in? Gwilt or McKernan for Fletcher? Is Zaka available? Is it time to unleash Edwards and Laverde?

Zaka should be available and at Etihad should be ok fitness wise to come straight back in.

I wouldn't discount Browne to be a surprise call up if Watson misses

Gwilt was good enough in the VFL to warrant selection if Fletch doesn't get up, Laverde couldn't hurt either to add some marking power to the forward line

Belly out and McKernan in if we are serious, get belly fit before he plays

BOG in the 2s yesterday with 29 touches, it shouldn't be a surprise if given a game.

Will be a great story if it happens- hasn't played a senior game in 2 years due to injury!

Scrabble with my parents for me.

It was a huge game yesterday. How badly they blew it makes next weekend just another game.

I would drop Bellchambers and bring one or both of Giles and McKernan. Fletcher is injured - bring Gwilt ( he never deserved to be dropped after we beat the Hawks no less). Alex Browne deserves go. If right - perhaps in for a proppy Chapman.

Why I want Giles in is when played for GWS he was a strong big bodied ruckman who could mark around the ground and go down forward and kick a goal. Some players just don't play that well in the seconds and then are much more capable in the 1s.

All I know is we need to reward those that are playing well in the seconds and do something about Tom.

Any Essendon supporter watching this game is either a masochist or so one eyed it's crazy

Sadly, count me in

I for some reason have flights booked to Perth in 2 weeks. I love to torture myself. Maybe we'll turn it around by then...maybe we'll get even worse. We'll be without Jobe most likely next week. A positive is that we have Geelong off a 6 day break from Perth. That's all I got.

Curry Night with the In-laws - or the Cats at Etihad.

I'll let you know after team selection.

And - for the record - 37 years a member and have only missed Melb games when I've been OS.

Hard to see us getting close against the Cats.

TBC's first point of business will be to ask Bilclavs " what position to you want me to assume"?

Cats are tanking and have stated they are in full on rebuild mode.

If we don't win this at the safety of Etihad then we'll be just behind Carlton in terms of where we are at.

The Cats are shit too, should be a tight tussle.

We've lost to one team currently outside the 8, North who are on the same amount of games as us.

3/5 of the other teams who have beaten us are in the four and unbeaten freo are the only team who has given us a touch up.

We are 1 game outside the 8, 2 games outside the 4 in what looks like shaping up to be a very close year.

We have not been playing anywhere near our best and are still in the running.

I think we're a fair way off panic stations.

At least with Curry you know what you are getting. With Essendon you will think it's just wind, trust your instincts and quickly find out it was much worse.

We're not far off panic stations, players have no confidence, fans are losing hope.
Hawthorn being our only hope this season. 7 weeks ago.

Played well but lost to a very under-done Sydney
Barely beat Carlton!!
Barely beat St. Kilda.
Lost to Collingwood which was there for the taking on the big stage.
Found a way to lose against North Melbourne.
Were in trouble against the lions - avoided by a big 3rd quarter effort.
Found a way to lose against Richmond on the big stage for Fletcher#400.

I just keep hoping we'll come good, they need to be getting better each week, not worse.
