Re: Stringer
I read in the Fluffington Post that he has dropped 4kg compared to his playing weight last season
Re: Stringer
Definitely can see he's lost a bit of weight. Time will tell on this one but I like to take the optimistic approach that he'll be able to get back to his best footy with a fresh start.
Re: Stringer
Justin Crow on SEN this morning said that they are training him up to have 2 or 3 rotations through the mid-field next year. He routinely did one sometimes two at the Bulldogs.
Obviously, they see him and Pigeon doing mid-field work to bolster our 'inside mids' stocks.

where the hell do the players come up with these horrible nick names? I mean pigeon? How did poor mcgrath get that name?hop wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2017 4:17 pm Justin Crow on SEN this morning said that they are training him up to have 2 or 3 rotations through the mid-field next year. Re: Stringer
In his first week a the club he cadged a lift to training with Brendan Goddard (we call him BJ for some unknown reason ) and in a typical act of phasing BJ asked innocently what he doesn't like to be called. Being a wide-eyed Rookie - Andy answered honestly and said "Pigeon" - (yep the Glenn McGrath reference).Crazyman wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 5:04 pmGlenn McGrath ring a bell?DC2 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 11:09 amwhere the hell do the players come up with these horrible nick names? Of course, BJ protected his sources..........

I'll give him a better one than Pigeon ..."Meteor"
Re: Stringer
OK, so it's only 2 games in, but I can't see him being a midfielder.
He seems to be trying hard enough. And it's hard to see on TV how much running he does.
But in the middle of the ground he just gets swamped all the time.
Put him in the forward line where he earned his reputation, where he gets more space, and where he does have enough pace to put pressure on opposition defenders (which we're lacking down there.)
I can't see him being a matchwinner in the midfield, but he could be in the forward line.

Re: Stringer
He played like he had 5 big macs just before the game...
dices ad adepto futui (tell them to f*** off)
Re: Stringer
Should be playing deep forward with 3 x 5 minute spells in the middle.

Re: Stringer
That’s a little harsh. I think he’s trying very hard to impact the play but is so out of sorts in doing so. He’s virtually learning a new craft instead of being a target up forward where he normally wreaks havoc.
He needs to spend most of his time in the 50m arc IMO, and occasionally go in the middle to give some like Smith a rest up forward.
Re: Stringer
A little friendly spur won’t hurt,Windy!
Re: Stringer
He looks how Begley did as a 16yo.
Re: Stringer
He is the icing - not the cake.
Look to Merret and Daniher to contribute a tad more.
