Bit hard to compile this before list management is completed.

At this minute, you’d go with;

C. McKenna, C. Hooker, M. Gleeson
A. Francis, M. Hurley, A. Saad
A. McGrath, D. Heppell, D. Zaharakis
J. Stringer, S. McKernan, O. Fantasia
M. Baguley, J. Daniher, A. McDonald-Tipungwuti

T. Bellchambers, Z. Merrett, D. Smith

D. Parish, K. Langford, D. Myers, M. Guelfi

* P. Ambrose / M. Gleeson to fight out the spot in defence

I would have Brown on the bench in place of Myers.

Far more deserving of a game and been really good in JD and Smacks absence.

Would give SMack and Belly a chance to rotate on and off and through the ruck through the game.

Who has Francis minding the small forward?

These days the 22 is a 22.

If playing JD, SMak and Stringer then Brown won’t play ahead of Myers or any other midfielder we pick up in trades due to midfield rotations

He is a depth player and not in best 22 IMO

We’ll have to agree to disagree.
I reckon you need 3 mids and a tall on the pine.

JD & SMack can give Belly a chop out in the ruck (even 5 mins a qtr) and having Brown on the bench gives us that flexibility to give JD, SMack and Belly time for breathers while one is off the deck.

Hopefully we pick up a good inside mid during the offseason who can come in for either Myers, Langford or Parish.

For me the improvement needs to come from the midfield. There are still big question marks over Zaharakis, Parish, Myers and Langford, none of whom would get a start in a finals side.

I honestly cant come up with a Best 22

I want to find places for the likes of Laverde, Langford, Mutch, Ridley, Gleeson, Begley, Ambrose, Guelfi and Clark and finding it very hard

If we do land a top quality mid during the trade period, competition for places will be as fierce as it has ever been over the last 15 years

Can’t really fault that line up

Unlucky to be left out is 2018’s Most Improved

Laverde, Brown and Baguely also given their late season form

B: Saad Hooker McGrath
HB: Francis Hurley McKenna
C: Zaha Smith Hepp
HF: Stringer Smac Orazio
F: Tippa Joe Laverde
R: Belly Zack Sheil

IC: Langford Bags Redman Parish

I believe this team has lots of options, McGrath will obviously go through the mid at times, Redman/Bags as cover down back any of our mids can go fwd Langford Parish to go through the center or fwd. wasn’t sure about McKenna or Saad in BP but I believe Saad is a bit more accountable on his man. Overall options in defense midfield and attack!! Maybe Gleeson over Bags depending on how he comes back from injury.... Guelfi very unlucky and will need to take his chance again when opportunity presents Bring on 2019!! vingertje

On paper our best 22 is up there with any other team. What concerns me is The next 10-15 players on the list...

We have a bad run with injuries and we’re f***** IMO

This bothers me also. Injuries and it's another season gone. Especially when it's forwards. Reckon we have good defence reserves, but little up forward. Seriously need Begley & Laverde to step up, and find another smaller type.

The depth will be in the reserves. They are pumped ATM. Plus you forgot we now have a super-mid with a huge body who can kick goals from 50m.
When Bonce said today that we are "not done yet" did he mean we were still hoping for a crack at Martin?

I think you may be underestimating our depth just a tad. Without Daniher and Fantasia for most of the second half we managed to win 10 out of 14 games.

Not making most people’s starting 22 are the likes of Ambrose, Brown, Begley, Stewart, Colyer, Myers, Ridley, Redman, Mutch, Clarke, McNiece, Hartley all of whom have AFL experience
