Looks like the club is putting together some highlights of the contenders. Here’s Adam Saad. Some of his work was fantastic...

Great highlights package! Don’t think he’ll get near the medal, but it’s good he’s been recognised. Smith will be red hot favourite. Looking forward to his highlights package!

I thought about Hooker but just cant get a read on his season. Definitely a better option down back. But he had several non productive weeks up forward which will unlikely help his cause.

Zaka would have been leading until he did his shoulder - Smith took over at that point and was not headed.

Break out the champagne,Devon Smith.

Just out of interest, what names might be attached to the awards of 2nd,3rd and even 4th place getter’s trophies?

Are any of them in the name of The Essendon Past Players(and Officials?)?

The Gumby - player with the most potential on the injured list more oft than not
The Colyer - player displaying the greatest ineptitude in skills on match day
The BJ - player that commits the biggest turnover cock up of the season
The Stanton - player that lights it up in pre-season
The Reimers - most disruptive player on the list

Nice one mate.

But more like your Past Players of the 1930’s and beyond, plus Longserving Officials, especially Matchday Officials like Timekeepers,Interchange Stewards and Team Managers.

Could the Harvey be joint names? Harvey-Goddard? 😉

Cant argue with any of that - perhaps McKenna for most improved or has he already nabbed that one before?

He hasn’t.

McKenna hasn’t really been a big improver from last year. I’d say his biggest improvement was from 2016 to 2017, but Orazio Fantasia won it.

Irish has been a consistent performer over the past 2 seasons.

On tonight.

Close between Smith & Heppell. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a tie (although, it’s only happened once before).
