Trust me, Redman and Ridley are definitely more than prospects.
Yep. That's why I named Redman as our possible rising star.
Mason Redman and Jordan Ridley showed great toe to fill the placings behind Langford on the grass, but Redman unfortunately suffered an injury following the trial and scans have confirmed a fracture to his ankle.
tragedy - hopefully nothing too bad - but fractured ankle means no running for a month or so and that pretty much kills off his fitness base leading into the season.
FFFFSSSSakeee!
That does it. No more trials for anyone!!!! Poor guy. Wonder if it needed to be pinned? Or compound fracture like my nephew got at school sports??

What wasI thinking?

Matt Dea then.
Got a surplus of medium defenders grass.

I loved Matty's work ethic and endeavor but he is depth at best.
Obviously not surplus to the club. Where was your mail on him being picked up as a rookie?
St Kilda took Hind. Matty was still training with the club so him being picked up isn't a shock.

I still think he's surplus, club clearly disagrees.
Essendon Football Club- We arent arrogant, just better.

I hate to be contrary but I don’t think he is surplus in the same way Zac Clarke is not surplus. Mature age, AFL experienced depth player who gives the squad reasonable quality in the event of injury etc. More so now with Baguely likely to continue his late career cameo as a defensive small forward, Gleeson still an unknown quantity after a year off and Saad/McKenna likely to be used in rebounding roles.

Dea is a safe bet to do a defensive job when needed.

Tend to agree with this.

Dea was very stiff to get the chop in the first place. Solid season, and was voted most courageous.

I know there is still the draft to come, but why not give it a shot now:

Ladder finish - 9th (keep losing when we shouldn’t, disposals still shit - on a good beat anyone, but too few and far between)
B&F - Smith back to back
Most Improved - Langford
Best clubman - Bags
Leading goal kicker - SMack
Highest Brownlow votes - tie between Zerrett & Shiel
AA nominations - Smith, Shiel, Zerrett, Hurls
Mark of the year - Tippa
Goal of the year - Stringer (a twist and a turn to beat 2 defenders and wirh a banana on the left to finish it off from deep in the pocket)
Rising Star - Redman (given fletcher didn’t nominate this year...)
Now the preseason is done, a few tweaks as above 😢

Ladder finish: 1st - Premiers
B&F: Zach Merrett
Most Improved: Aaron Francis
Best Clubman: Adam Saad
Leading goal kicker: Jake Stringer (52) - 4 other players to kick 30 or more goals (Orazio, Joe, Walla and Laverde)
Highest Brownlow votes: Zach Merrett - 19 votes
AA nominations: Adam Saad, Zach Merrett, Jake Stringer, Michael Hurley
Mark of the year: Joe Daniher
Goal of the year: Andrew McGrath
Rising Star: Jordan Ridley
I am sticking with everything except one crucial prediction....No Premiership, 9th place on percentage with 13 wins. Oh and three players to kick 30 plus. Stringer, Walla, Fantasia
