Was waiting for this to be addressed.

Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

Was waiting for this to be addressed.

I am shocked at the justification. This is a disgrace. The multiple, non-paid holding the ball decisions were a farce, but then to try and justify it??

https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-04-27/ ... -day-calls

This is beyond pathetic. After re-watching this footage they still should have been all free kicks and in jakes case a 50m penalty should have been paid. Players know not to kick it after a whistle. Roughhead heard the whistle but still chose to kick it.

What did you expect, after all. The AFL is answerable to no one and it would be wishful thinking that they would admit the shockers in the last quarter could have influenced the outcome.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

The umpiring is not an issue because the people running the AFL are corrupt pricks and the scoreboard outcome was intended.

The only good that can come of this, is that the whole football world has seen this corruption in prime time. Something has to be done.
The media are just as bad in my book. Coaches lose x amount of matches in a row and they bring the heat. Teams lose by 100 points and they're ridiculed by the media for weeks.

Blatant cheating on the biggest stage of the H&A season - and the media and AFL deflect the issue to supporters venting their frustration at losing a close game.

If the margin had been 10 points they would have admitted that maybe one decision was wrong but in the end had no bearing on the result.

But a margin of 4 points.....no way...that would be an admission that the wrong team won due to their umpire’s incompetency

PS. The club should demand a meeting with the umpires and Director of Umpiring with a very clear “please explain” on the table

If they are all correct, then all the rules are wrong.

The more Rule changes there are,the worse the Umpiring gets.

Well then Mr Ryan, how do things go from here?

Does an Umpire from each game from here, discuss each contentious decision until the end of the season?

Is that how it goes?

Ryan said he believed the noise of the crowd contributed to the players stopping.

"Two of the clear examples was when the players stopped and there was no whistle," he said.

"That's happened in my games two or three times over the years, but really, that’s just the result of the noise level, the players just can't hear whether or not there's been a whistle. Because of the scream of the crowd, the assume there's been a whistle, they stop, look at us, we're calling 'play on'.

"It's not ideal, but we just need to adjudicate according to the rules, and the players, there's going to be circumstances where they can't hear the whistle because of crowd noise."
The players stopped collectively because they, as a group from both teams, thought what they saw was a free kick. Farck wits.

Yes, this is where this c*** needs to be called out as an idiot. If players “can’t hear a whistle”, WHY WOULD THEY STOP?

Just f*** off ya clown. 🤡

Is there actually some-one, ANY-ONE, at the club with the gumption and fortitude to stand up to those cockheads and ask them for a please explain??. I doubt it somehow.

They have explained. Publicly. And comically.
