Remember the days (I know it’s a f****** long time ago) when we used to be a daring club...a flamboyant club...a forward thinking club?

I would suggest that in the 90’s and early 2000’s, we would have taken this opportunity to “unexpectedly” pick Irving Mosquito for Saturday night. He may not be ready. His form may not warrant it. But someone at the club would have the vision to “back him in” on a special night to show a special talent. I reckon it would have happened. Now, if Mozzie had a quiet one, it would be a case of “oh well, there were no high expectations from him...but he has benefitted from the experience”. And if he did play well, it would have been seen as a master stroke.

But here we are...the dull, conservative, visionless club that we are...

No, no I won't go there. I prefer to live in Fantasyland. Sundays headlines to read, "Dusty demolished by an in-form Shiel," "McKernan soars for season high of Seven," "Clarke taps his way into the history books," "McNiece a solid wall of muscle in defence," "Tigers with tails between their legs as Bombers' rookies blow them away." :D :D

Nah, it will be some unknown Richmond dude, like a mature age recruit from some unknown suburban league who will pop up, bang in eight goals. be hailed as the new Michael Roach, only to disappear from sight three weeks later.

Remember that guy that won the ANZAC day medal, McGough or something. We have a handy knack of discovering these diamonds in a turd

Yeah, their Ruck on debut will destroy Belly and kick 4 goals as the tiggers run riot over a lacklustre Bombers.

Worsfold to trot out his usual shit about how great they were at training, didn’t see it coming, working on getting better and improving connections around the ground like an NBN salesman....blah blah blah...

Quite simply,I tipped Richmond.

If I’m wrong,95% of the tipping competition are wrong as well.Only the most One eyed of us,seriously think we’re a chance.

Speaking of tipping,I’m in the top 10% of 50 000+ tipsters.

Wow!

I agree, Mozzie would have been an inspiring selection.

I’m not so inspired about tonight.

We are under the pump with the loss of Dev and Joe. A “Player Lead” team would respond with fire and fury, even with a talent shortfall. To make a statement. To give the fans some hope. So Woosha, let’s see how your player lead team goes.

My prediction

We fail

Like Collingwood picking Wells for his first game in a year who in return basically wins them the game with 3 goals

McNiece is a waste of a jumper. To half time, one kick, two clangers with 82% TOG.

Stringer clutching at his hammy ... :(

Some of our players are just being lazy.

Houli killing us. Need to tag him...

Houli to 1/2 time has had 13 uncontested possessions... 10 uncontested in our forward 50. For f**** sake.

Hard to judge anything much as it is so wet. Parish and Heppell handling the conditions okay. Hard to see where the goals are going to come from.

Can’t fault the effort I suppose.

Probably just not that good. Richmond will win comfortably as we will have to take chances to get back into the game and frankly that’s where it will go pear shaped.
