Ruptured testicle after being kicked in the groin at training. Poor bastard!

Operation but the Pies are hopeful it will be just one week.

Would have preferred him in so we had a realistic understanding of where we are at and where we need to get to.

Hooker was a bees dick off playing last week. Rest him this week, that means 3 weeks off before a final. No thanks, plays for mine.
Hooker has been struggling most of the second half of the season with some niggles...the rest would do him the world of good. It’s not like he is a midfielder where touch and form may drop with an extended break. Besides that, it didn’t seem to effect Hurley too badly and he was off for what, 5 weeks?

I am sure the club can build his training load to ensure he is prime to go if indeed he does get the break.
Totally agree.

Playing him would be stoopid. Makes no sense. He’s had arm and back issues for weeks. Let him completely mend, and not risk completely damaging him to the point where he can’t play at all.

Jesus, the Windy & Windy circle jerk.

I didn’t play at the highest level, but played at a decent level and played plenty of finals footy. It is different. The intensity is nuts compared to home and away. There would be nothing worse than going in cold. It’s often about momentum, and that’s exactly what multiple coaches, including Worsfold has expressed this week.

If he’s cleared to play by fitness and medical professionals, he plays.

Likewise you don’t want players going into that high intensity finals pressure carrying an injury

If he is crook, he rests

Oh well with DeGooey and Sidebottom out and Moore returning from injury we've got half a chance tomorrow night, especially if we turn up the heat early and Buckley panics.

Stringer out really hurts. Not sure about Fanta and Heppell as they have not been great for a little while.

DClarke and Hooker big ins. An TBell playing injured is marginally better than ZClarke.

yep so he must be fully fit because based on the other changes, the club is clearly adopting a safety first approach with several other players

Its smart selection. We can actually win with the team we have in. The lovely thing is that constant pressure to win to stay in the 8 is lifted. That pressure valve release may have a great effect on them.

We are resting the dudes that have been playing sore and giving those that need a run a run.

Yeah, I think selections are smart too, though I'd still be tempted to rest Hooker again.
Not sure it's a winning team though. Where will the goals and forward-line pressure come from? Unless Begley or Laverde or Ham (or someone) has a breakout game.

Do we really want to win this dead rubber or are we tanking?

its all academic at this stage.

no matter who and where we play in the Elim Final...we simply must win. Too many years of heartbreak and embarrassing losses to let this chance slip. If the coaches cant have these guys cherry ripe for the finals then i really dont know what it will take.
