Probably someone no one else wants, if I know us.

But no, "glamour boy" Tiger delisted by Richmond the other day - 2017 flag team, good raps when not injured. GWS originally. Free agent now.

Strikes me as a Devon Smith type forward - tackles, nippy and likes a goal. Oh and has done both knees (ACL) as opposed to Smith's knee complaints (PCL). Also has a premiership medallion.

Problem I have with the rumored pickups is that they don't seem to be addressing our "widely identified" midfield deficiencies.

Well if we are getting him in, he may as well become the boot shiner because I can't see him displacing Smith, Tippa, Stringer, Fantasia, and Snelling and Mosquito (who should get a run this year) as the Small/Meds in the forward line.

He's always been someone that doesn't mind hitting a few blokes.

We need more of that. No more nice guy antics.

Hard as nails, unlike the majority of our list. I’m sure Rutten, Cara and Richardson have seen enough of him to know he’s worth a shot.

We might actually hold the ball in our forward line for a change if he’s in it.

what was his situation last season? Injuries, form or just too tough a 22 to break into?

Yeah, yeah, give him a clap and a jersey but if he's the only thing we can get really excited about in the whole of this trade period, then God help us! 8

Just like The Package was going to muscle everyone in the contests and take the pressure of Joe. But some were very worried about him flattening guys évery game and getting us a bad name (wishful thinking) :D Well don't let Woosha get to him, or he'll end up a pastor in the Hillsong Church.

Smith played about 5 minutes up forward last year.

Snelling is average at best, and Mozzie is miles off (which is fine, as he’s a kid). Overrating our players is what most of our supporters are good at.

The question that should be asked is not an we take him, but if we do, is he going to improve our list. IMO no he doesn’t.

If we sign him, Hope he proves me wrong, but I just don’t see how he makes the squad better or that what he brings is better than those already there...

Spot on Crazyman.
Smith played 5 minutes forward last year.....but is likely to spend more time forward in 2020....Shiel anyone?, Cutler, D.Clarke, Begley, Langford etc. All likely to get more midfield time in 2020.
Snelling...average.....really? He joined the Club half-way through the season, starred in VFL for several weeks, played 4 AFL games very well before being injured. Comparison to Townsend being Jacob played, what?, 5 good games for the Tiges? Snelling's future is ahead of him, not in the past.
Lastly, the game is at a place where small forwards have the most impact on scoring. Sure, have a KPP or two, but their main role is to get the ball to the ground so smalls can do their work. Smith, Walla, Fanta, Snelling are those guys. Mosquito in years to come.
Don't see Townsend fitting that profile.
All that said.....it's just my view at the moment.....and I'll be happy to be proved wrong :)
