Injuries season 2020
Injuries season 2020
Patrick Ambrose: minor tweak of his calf during his break, but he has started running again since being back at the Bombers and it shouldn't interrupt his preparations too much.
Joe Daniher: hasn't yet rejoined training... no guarantees he will be ready to go by the start of next season.
Sam Draper: returning from a knee reconstruction in April last year...will be aiming for an early season comeback at VFL level.
Orazio Fantasia: hip injury required surgery, time on the sidelines. He is running well and expected to join in full training post-Christmas.
Noah Gown: fractured a metatarsal in his foot, a reoccurrence of an injury. Likely to be sidelined for a fair chunk of the new year.
Dyson Heppell: surgery on his foot injury at the end of the year. Spent pre-season on a stationary bike.
Cale Hooker: hip arthroscopy last week after recurring pain with the injury post-season. He is expected to be back running in January.
Michael Hurley: shoulder surgery at the end of the season, able to keep running and is in good shape heading into the break. He isn't yet in full contact training but looks well placed to join in after Christmas.
Dylan Shiel: A meniscus issue has meant he should be back into the swing of things fully in January.
James Stewart: not being rushed through his injury.
David Zaharakis: The ankle injury late in the season required follow-up surgery. His right knee then had swelling and he needed surgery on a tear to his meniscus.
Smith is looking good though

Re: Injuries season 2020
Mitch Hibberd hurt his left knee today...had a quick medical assessment before being carried from the track.
Dyson Heppell and Zach Merrett stepping up their workloads.
Mason Redman and David Zaharakis are running on the sidelines.
Sam Draper (knee) and James Stewart (groin) continued their respective recoveries from long-term injuries.
Orazio Fantasia (hip), Dylan Shiel (knee) and Michael Hurley (shoulder) all trained fully after off-season injuries, with Fantasia regaining the pace and lateral movement that he lacked last season as he managed the issue.
There is still no set return for key forward Joe Daniher, who has not returned to running..

These bastards should be among the most prodded and probed athletes in Australia, and yet there are some who have required late pre-season arthroscopic clean-outs on knees, hips, shoulders and ankles... and subsequent modified training.
What the f*** gives here? Do we recruit duds or is there some serious underlying problem?

McDonald-Tipungwuti is dealing with a calf injury and won't take part in Essendon's practice match against Melbourne on February 21 but could face West Coast in the Marsh Community Series on February 27.

Seriously, ever since we moved into the wizz bang ‘High Performance Centre’, we have become the most unhealthiest, unfittest, injury plagued, stressed out f****** athletes in the history of sport.s'dreams wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 12:11 pm These bastards should be among the most prodded and probed athletes in Australia, and yet there are some who have required late pre-season arthroscopic clean-outs on knees, hips, shoulders and ankles... and subsequent modified training.
