Essendon's moto forever should just be "There's always next year"

Can we at least have some announcements of retirements and farewell games to cheer us up... the televised "Captain's Run" didn't do much for me this week.

To be fair, we’ve had nothing but Looney Tunes on the board for years

That’s what they’ve done a few times before and they got rolled.

Melbourne are nearly as bad as we are!

If they f*** it up and lose, they are on par with us.

Not that we really give a stuff about their concerns!

Its going to be glorious watching both teams trying to lose the game to get pick 5 or whatever it is.
Wouldn't it be be really funny if Melbourne beat us by fives goals? A competition who is the worst team.

This is a farewell game for a few of the players and if it isn't it dam well should be. If Rutten has any spunk at all, he will give half a dozen their marching orders or will he buy them a beer and all come back in 2021? :-"

I don’t blame the players.

I blame the coaches inability to get the best out of the players.

I blame stupid ways of determining the leadership group which has lead to what looks like petty jealousies,

I blame fitness staff that have made pacy players lose pace and scrawny players never put on an ounce of muscle,

I blame skills coaches that overseen skilled youngsters go backwards

I blame the board for appointing Matthew Knights instead of Damien Hardwick

I blame medical staff that instead of blowing the whistle about AOD wrote a letter to Paul Hamilton,

I blame Bomber Thompson for bringing Dank and The Weapon to Bomberland and told Hirdy to use their techniques to instantly create big bodied midfielders and then let the entire AFL industry throw Hirdy under the bus

I blame Xavier Campbell for appointments uninspiring coaches that are incapable of putting a cohesive group of players that wants to bleed Red and Black

Now we will see players, who could be part of the future, leave at the worst possible time.

Like the Chicago Cubs and it took the 100 years to win a title after their last one.

In all seriousness, I expect the following changes for Melbourne game

In: Laverde, Hooker, Hurley, and Bellchambers (farewell game) if fit.
Out: Gleeson, Phillips, Hibberd, Cutler. (I think we’ve seen enough of the latter 2 to know they won’t be on the list next year)

Special Out: Woosha

If situations were reversed, then surely Essendon would lose to Melbourne, and lose our finals place with it.
So the ultimate irony would be for Essendon to win this week and ruin Melbourne's chances.
But...we're Essendon, so doing the obvious is unlikely.
