Very unlucky. He was looking like he was getting close to playing after looking good pre season.

Who would you bring in off the rookie list now.

Haven't seen him in action at all myself yet, but what about McKinnon. Got some good reports in some of the pre-season games and boy, do we need some boosting in the ruck department. He's the tallest player on our list at 206cm 6'9" in the old language. Actually would have liked to see how he would have gone against Sandilands but wasn't available for selection at that stage ( no long term injuries - so he couldn't be promoted off the Rookie list - now he can)

Hille seems down on form and even when he gets the tap it invariably proves to be ineffectual and ends up as a free for all out of the middle, in which overwhelmingly last Sat we were done like kippers.

Bad luck he was coming on, BUT would he have gotten a game? Lloyd, Lucas, Johns and Gumbleton are probably all ahead of him for tall forward positions and Fletcher, Michael, Ryder and Lee in defence.

Would like to see McKinnon get a crack. He was the year ahead of me at school so I'm a bit of a fan, plus I think Hille is greatly overrated by the match committee.

McKinnon can't be any worse than Hille and Laycock have been as far as playing in the ruck goes.

But from the training reports on bomberblitz, it seemed that both Hille & Laycock were able to out ruck and out body him during the preseason.

Not allowed to. Technically he wasnt eve alowed to be a mature-aged rookie, but the coaches allowed it due to exceptional circumstances (so it allows us to promote him next year without going through the draft).

However, the trade off was that he isnt allowed to play senior footy this year.

I reckon Laycock's been alright this year. He just can't get on long enough to get any real feel for the game and thus hasn't performed to his potential.

Eg. When he first came on against Carlton, we got two clear centre clearnces in a row after Hille hadn't been great.
