I am not convinced the forward line of:
HF: 6. Caldwell 4. Langford 11. Gresham
F: 25. Stringer 20. Wright 16. Perkins

Is a good one.

Wright has days where he cannot get his hands on the ball, but hopefully he can bring them to ground for our small fast crumber to snaffle...

Ummm - where is our small fast crumber?

The closest we have on that list is Menzie.

WE NEED A CRUMBER!

Gresham?
Gresham is averaging less than a goal a game at the Saints.

Gresham's draft notes from RookieMeCentral state "Weaknesses: Speed, hurt factor".

We need a Charlie Cameron or a Bobby Hill type.

Caddy had a sore back...might take him slowly.

Is it a case of Jones or Weides? Langers is also the other tall in that front 6. I actually see him as FF, coming out from the square, with 2MP at CHF. Stringer the grunt, then Davey(s), Menzie, Gresham, Perkins as the smalls options. Perkins has the biggest future out of that lot I think. I've put Gresham behind Perkins but ahead of the others due to his experience, however Menzie has the goals on the scoreboard so the selections will be :?:  Then there's Hind who has been trialed up forward this preseason too.

I've left Hobbs out of that team too. If he plays in the 2's on Friday night and does well, he's also in the mix.

I wonder how far Draper is from taking the field? In the meantime, Goldstein and Bryan will go ok if they use a 2 ruck strategy.

The first game line up will be fascinating.

You know you're getting old when Perkins at 6'2" is considered a small.

Still a bit slight but he's one of those players that plays small, often crumbs effectively, but also takes a decent solid contested mark too. I'm expecting a big year from him.

So do 15 other clubs.
But until we find one Gresham is the best we've got.

Hawks have a lot of injury woes.
We *should* win this.
Interchange likely to be - Tsatas, Hind, Jones, Heppell.
If I was tipping a surprise selection, I'd go with Caldwell out and Bryan in.

Draper had a decent 3/4's at tonight's practice game.
Hobbs did well too reportedly.
Caddy brave and at everything. Why do the concussion rules come to mind with that?

So, do Draper and Hobbs get a rd 1 gig on the strength of that hit out?

With such a mentally fragile team, this game is very important to get a win and to start the year on a positive note. Drapes and Hobbs would be massive ins for us and I hope the selectors take a bold approach.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

Scott has stated that he will not play underdone players. Draper is clearly underdone and has a history of reinjuring himself. I doubt that he will be selected this week.

I'd be keen to see Hobbs in for Hind or Guelfi

Scott has already proven himself a massive hypocrite regarding playing underdone players.

Apparently has some hamstring tightness. In doubt for Round 1.
Hmmm...would clear the way for Hobbs. Reportedly amongst the best in last weeks Bullants game.
Maybe Martin or Perkins rotating thru the Parish role?
