I've said for a long time - we have talent a mile wide but only an inch deep.
And....we'll never be a real threat until our VFL side is competitive.

That said, the result isn't as bad as it looks. We didn't have all that many AFL listed players in, and Brisbane's AFL side had a bye so their VFL team was stacked a bit more than usual.

It’s hard to measure when the list of injuries extends to key personnel through both ranks. Depth in talent vs depth in experience sometimes quanders the results onfield .

Lapsing lists can hurt and does.

Our VFL side a is a rabble. Has been for a while.
And the AFL team will never succeed until the VFL side gets itself together.
Just seems to be a real disconnect between what the AFL want to play like, and how the VFL actually play.

Yep, that's him. And he's been doing quite well. Well enough that plenty of fans are already suggesting he could be a mid-season draft addition to the AFL squad.

I believe we should draft Hatley mid-year.

I understand he is a Setterfield type.... but who kicks goals.

Even just as coverage for Setterfield ... who breaks down fairly regularly (he played 13 games in 2022, 10 in 2023 and has broken down again ... he averages 10 games a season over 7 years).
