Match Review Panel are an absolute joke

Post by j-mac31 »

Goddard belted Davey with his forearm and I could have sworn the umpire was looking but when no free was paid I assumed he must have only seen it out of the corner of his eye. I saw it as high contact, intentional and behind play. Don't know what that equals, but surely more than being ignored.

Also, Fatnal and Eagleton were offered reprimands for tripping, Whitnall's was by hand. I reckon in previous years Fletch has been suspended for the same things. Either the new system is too soft or the previous tribunal members were a pack of knobs. Or both.

the old system is..obviously old and inconsistant.

the new system is new and has been more consistant and not so tight arse on everything, i like it. Who would want to see players get suspended all the time anyways? with so many injuries these days there bound to just injure themselves down the road at some point anyways.

After all of last weeks reports and reviews, Mark McVeigh copped the heaviest punishment.

Pfft... the new system is an absolute joke. And if you think it's consistent then you need a brain transplant. It's anything but.

Andrew Lovett... 3 weeks for attempted striking.

McVeigh flips the bird and gets $900 fine.

Headland and Selwood have their altercation.... nothing to answer.

Just in the post above... Fletcher trips Judd with his fingertips running in to goal and gets a couple of weeks. Whitnall does the same and gets 70 points. Fevola gets off.

Hall got off in the lead up to the GF.

The tribunal is a farce. The entire AFL hierarchy is a farce. It's a disgrace from the top down.

Hate to go back to this Goddard thing, but he clearly struck Davey with his arm to the head and got nothing, yet Fevola gets a reprimand for what looked like little more than a push in the back.

Not that I like Fevola but either Goddard is bloody luck or Fev got absolutely rooted.

It is a complete farce that previous decisions cannot be used by the defence in subsequent cases, even if they are only cases from the current season's moronic tribunal decisions. It is the the only thing enabling those tribunal/matxh review panel tools to get away with their money at the moment.

Hall getting off was by far the worst decision, it was a joke, he must have been laughing when he got off!!

Hall was found guilty and took an early plea which reduced the points and thus he avoided a suspension.

The problem with that decision was that they downgraded the charge after deciding that it happened "in play" and the ball was a good 50 metres up the ground.

didn't they also somehow deem it as reckless instead of intentional.
