Essendon v Collingwood - Anzac Day Match Thread

Post by DYSON#2 »

Well i cannot wait!
Good conditions for the game, no rain i shouldnt think.

Will be a great day i suspect for a debutant. *cough* Basher *cough*

Much talk this morning that Presti, Thomas and Burns wont play. i dont think Presti will but a bonus if Thomas and Burns dont either.

Bring on The James Hird show, one last time on this; the greatest stage outside of finals

Lets hop Bachar will get up, it will be very very exciting for him to play.

I cannot wait for Gumby to debut. He's my favourite at the minute. Btw, what number is he?

I'm off to the game in an hour or so. The pre-match entertainment isnt much anyway.

I'm not sure you will get many in this thread Dys, but hopefully you will.

I'd like to see Bachar come in to replace Jetta.

Who could Bolton do a job on if he played? He just seems like a ridiculous inclusion. We're top heavy already with Johns playing. We need an actual ruckman to come into the team for Hille rather than include Bolton and Bradley, and omit a small.

If Bradley is just going to pinch hit in the middle so Laycock can rest without taking Ryder away from the backline too much then.... I might be able to live with that. If Bradley floats on HB and Ryder goes into the ruck, well that's ok too. If Bradley actually has an oppoent, then heaven help us.

I'm off to the game. 'Twill be awesome, as every other ANZAC Day match has been. Although for some reason i have a bad feeling about today's match - not necessarily that we'll lose, but just that something bad will happen.

My 3 predictions are: 1) Essendon by 17 2) ADM McPhee; and 3) Collingwood farkwit sitting next to me to be a dumb piece of racist shit.

2 min walk to train station, 12 minute train ride, then 10 minute walk to get our seats. Seating is reserved so there's no rush, just so long as you make it before the pre-game formalities .

I'm off.

Malthouse has just confirmed that Collingwood will have no late changes as the Collingwood boys have just run out onto the field to warm up very early.

Look out for McVeigh. I reckon he'll have a great game.

But also look out for Didak. A big danger.
