1 from me.
He looks a shoe in on the marks, but then these public vote things can be seriously skewed. C'mon bter's, get skewing.

Voted for Jay, but got to agree with Jazz_84 Aaron Edwards is going to take a fair bit of beating.

Wasn't particularly impressed with most of the marks in the top 5. Can't believe Ben Aitken's got in. Regulation chest mark that was made to look a lot better than it was by the fact he jumped up, took the mark and then had a guy flip him while he was in the air.

WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

The Bendigo Bank Bombers Jay Neagle has won the 2006 VFL TRUenergy Mark of the Year Award.

The exciting first year player took the spectacular grab in the team’s first win of the season in Round 7 against Tasmania at Windy Hill.

He beat a field of six other contenders that included this years JJ Liston Medal winner Aaron Edwards.

Neagle was drafted from Gippsland Power under the father/son rule at the 2005 AFL National Draft. He finished second on the TAC Cup goal kicking list with 60 goals at the completion of the 2005 season despite missing three games through injury.

He impressed many with his 8 games for Bendigo before injury curtailed his rookie season.

Thanks for that Carla.

Top effort by Jay at least he has something out of this year, which was dogged by injury. Needs to have a Jobe pre season and hit round 1 firing, hopefully to make his afl debut at some stage.

I thought Neagles was the better mark. He came in behind an opponent at speed, jumped on Cartledges shoulders and took a clean grab.

Congratulations Jay.

What did he win?

Should we get a share?

Has anyone closely followed Jay's progress this year? Did he play forward or back? Pretty sure he played most of his junior footy as a forward. Definitely has the size to play key position. Love to see him in the seniors next year with Lloyd, Lucas and Johns.
