20 May 2007 Sunday Herald Sun

Garry said he got sick of his coaches after six or seven years and needed a change.

Well, Garry, that is probably why you failed as a team, if you were their captain and couldn't get inspired.
Love this little cheap shot buried in the middle of the article but he makes a very valid point

I dare say this article will rte-appear on Lyon's "Footy Classified" on Monday night!

Good comeback by Sheeds. He's got all the answers!

That is Gold!

Nice Bloke Garry Lyon and seems to have a decent football brain, but when you are an ordinary captain of a crap club with few prospects that continually makes up the numbers, especially when you have never won anything as a player (Not even Pre Season Cup,) and never coached, do not mess with K. Sheedy

G.Lyon is too gutless to put his own head on the chopping block and coach.

He is in no position to throw stones!

Exactly. He is a fking channel 9 lacky, and the only reason he had a go about the 3 quarter time address was because it was 7 who managed to do it.

Sheedy's quote about Lyon being an ordinary captain of an ordinary team is right on the money as well.

Good Old Sheeds you gotta love him he may in your opinions make stupid decisions on the field but the master can reveal new tricks and give experience to the younger players. Even if we are playing the sh**est footy ever he still manages to have a smile on his face and keeps a positive energy around the club. Garry Lyon better have a nice big slice of humble pie. Maybe they should make him hold up a sign saying Sheedy I was wrong.

Your probablly thinking it's just one win but after the week he's had he came out and stuck it right up them.

I'm one to resign Sheeds.

Lets hear you talk your way out of that one, moron.

Good article, but Sheeds should never have written it. It shows Lyon got to him, when Sheeds should have just pointed to his record as a player and coach. Lyon should feel proud that Sheeds even mentioned him, being the pathetic leader he is.

Sheeds, we got the four points, the wolves are being kept away for another week. Just leave it alone.

Honestly guys, what decent sports lover would even bother listening to a person like Lyon. He probably wrote his article after doing "line by line" (some of you will know what im implying, Jimmyc for one)

Ahem, enough of those implications Mr Rosso ;)

Lyon won't talk about the topic this week at all even if asked questions on TV he'll find a way not to answer them.

Lyon's story is a sad one indeed. The fact he gets up there each week on the Footy Show and has the audacity to trumpet all this baloney about recreational drugs and family values makes me want to vomit.

Who really cares about Gary Lyon
Hell he was making excuses for Brisbane - saying they didn't come to play on MMM.

Grow up Moron and know when your a dick...

Just consider the loss of prestige, status and clout if both Hird and Sheedy departed in the same year.

Hird is simply a superstar and eagerly sought after for comments which gives him ample opportunity to pump up the club.

Sheeds is simply the best promoter this club or the AFL will ever see and has earned the status of Statesman as he has a comment on everything.

The massive hole that would be created by the departure of these two legends at the same time, IMO, would detract from our status as a powerhouse club in the competition.

What a classic! Gary "Mr Original" Lyon won his 4th game in a row as coach of Camberwell Sharks Under 12's yesterday! He's so original that because his team was winning easily he swapped all the players to other positions after halftime! Remind you of anyone else!
I'm sure Sheeds would be impressed that Lyon has been learning from him!

Ha a hypocrite - we've also got Wayne Carey on TV. Anybody hear about the "love boat" rumours lol.

Just watched FC. Lyon didnt baulk. Happy to say that what he was stating was just an opinion and it was low of sheedy to have a crack at him...called him a bully in so many words. Both Kennett and Sheedy.

i have realised the point of FC is to sit on a high horse and state your opinion, protect your right to an opinion and not expect the faintest of re-buttle, whilst berating those whose opinion you dont agree with.

Ch 9 need a re-shaping in terms of its football coverage
or they need Eddie back.

get rid of Caroline Wilson. She gets an idea in her head, writes it, and will religiously hold it as fact until proven wrong. then it was an opinion. stupid writer.
Lyon's ego needs checking. make him the coffee boy.
I like Carey. Doesnt pipe up much on FC, but will at least put his thoughts forward in a well contructed manner and let others have their say.
My opinion of Hutchison couldnt be lower. From his default stunned mullet, animal in the headlights look to his caro-styled daydreaming theories, he is an insult to the word classified.....and also football really.

Lost any respect I had for Gary Lyon.

Hides behind his job in the media to take pot shots and one of the most successful coaches going around and then has a sook when he gets it thrown back in his face.

Pathetic pansy....to gutless to put his bollocks on the line and give coaching a crack but will throw his 'opinions' about all other coaches around willy nilly!!!

That panel is nothing but bullies, with Carey being the most spiteful, nasty of them all.

Can't believe he thinks he can come out and question Sheeds job as a coach, yet cry when Sheeds questions his job as a captain, and call it a personal attack?

Guy is an out and out nutcase.
